as a member of the union for 39 years i have to say whatever the result of the ballot hopefully it will be no,i wont be cancelling my union dues.
i have seen to many cases especially in recent years where if it had'nt been for the union some of my work mates would have been sacked some of them for very little wrong doings.
wne now have a macho management who especially if the tories get in will be pushing the work force like never before so without the protection of the union things are going to get a lot worse.

Slightly scarcistic comment here,nothing to do with you or even your post,but we won't need the union for the next 3 years at least anyway as there is this trust thing going on.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

for gods sake' if the Tories get in', yes unlike your precious labour party who can't wait to privatise rm, open your eyes man. by the way i'm voting no then getting the hell out of this useless union.

local reps can do a great job and will continue to do so. It's HQ that need to suffer for this and that is achieved by leaving the union en-mass. Leave atleast for a month after the NO vote to teach them not to take us for fools again. HQ must be sorted out.

Labour want to do us over just as much as Tories, no difference, both Capitalist parties now.

Thats not Green Politics thats Green Lifestyle - they are 2 different animals altogether. I have a friend who is a humanist and does things like you suggest but he won't vote green because they are too socialist for his taste.

Well said. We've had no support from this Labour government, and some people seem to have already forgotten that it's this Labour government that has opened wide the door to privitisation, thanks to this Labour government, the words Royal Mail, and, privitisation, are inexricably linked.

With "friends" like Labour, who needs the Tories as the sole bogeyman on the political stage?

yet again we would be privatised right now if the Tories were in power. The Tories would have privatised us without the EU telling us what to do. At least we have a chance under labour. Mind blowing that workers would think of supporting a party who have indicated that employment law is red tape and should be scrapped. There is no alternative to Labour or Tory unless proportional representation is brought in.
