been sacked, appeal procedure

hi everyone those who have read my post before will know my case but ive finally been sacked despite lack of evidence against me. i have started the appeal process and i was just wondering who will chair my appeal someone told me it will be an independent appeals manager from a diffrent area but the dom who sacked me told me it could be the cluster manager of our area taking it who just so happens to be based out of my office and who i have had fireworks and disagreements with. can this happen? if it does im pretty sure my evidence and claims will fall on deaf ears or are they pulling a fast one because they know il get reinstated off a proper appeals manager? cheers

if you have been unfairly dismissed...you should apply ASAP to employment tribunal...before your appeal is heard.
RM want people out the door and virtually as long as they follow the correct procedure to get people off the job/out the door...
there doesn't seem to be much that we (postpersons) can do.

in law - RM are not obliged to give you your job back


[what happened to the independed inquiery that billy hayes was requesting during the strikes. we need outsiders to investigate the way managers sack people and "get away with it". this is happening all over the country and absolutely nothing is getting done about it]

Yes. It is often cheaper to pay people off before the tribunal than the cost involved in having senior royal mail staff turn up. Go for it.

I believe the appeals procedure will mean a manager from a different area will hear your appeal

Get your E.T. in NOW. Im waiting 6 weeks for the result of my appeal, thankfully i have allready put in my I.T. ROYAL MAIL managers will try anything to trip you up, Stay strong brother. :cfo :mfo

If you have been dismissed you must appeal to the manager who sacked you within 3 days saying that you want to appeal. Your appeal should be heard by a senior appeals manager from the area. Contact your area or divisional rep to represent you. You get an ET1 form from your local job centre or download online and send this in straight away and tell your Branch.

It is true that there is a spate of sackings at or near the end of the financial year to balance the books!

Put your appeal in.

Put your ET claim in.

Once you are informed of who the appeal manager will be, put in a written complaint if you don't think he/she is independent enough. If they reject your complaint, write to your MP.
