Does longer Saturdays effect London offices ?

In the interest of fairness the TOP 10% thing probably does effect London if RM are to be trusted.

4 day weeks will be on offer to everyone. (as they were before)
London may or may not end up with a higher proportion of F/T. (in my opinion i think they will)

No London is not covered by sa on Saturdays. Yes London has mostly full timers because in the main we have opposed royal mails plans to turn the job into a part time industry. It is a shame some other areas didt take a stand as some have almost 50 per cent part timers. London will see an increase in part timers but the retention of delivery in london is not good. Under this deal I know some reps who will be looking at having Saturday on part timers or a four day week with Friday and Saturdays being covered by a part timer on 20 hours.

Dingo, our office is opposed to RM trying to make the business PT, but the fact still remains that 5 FT duties have gone from our office since Christmas through sackings, ill health, and retirement, and we are just expected to cope. These positions wont be filled by making PTs up to a FT 40(39)hr contract, it will just be covered by new starters, existing PTs, or by absorbing.
This is how slowly but surely the RM will make the business PT.

Ive heard this mentioned on here before and by somebody locally.

I can see a lot of long term F/T's and those high up the seniority list thinking 'I might as well get the weekend off in this hell hole-I deserve it!' and they probably do, but its at the expense of P/T's some of who have worked in Royal Mail for many years.

Anyway it still dosnt change my NO vote!

I just wonder dingo if you can tell me why you think it is that many areas have such a high proportion of PT and I would cast your mind back to 2007 and the Pay and Modernisation Agreement and how about the buy down of hours scheme completely agreed by the CWU and even one of your faithful took it and is a unit Rep.
Lets not be overindulgent in self praise dingo, it was nothing to do with standing firm more to do with recruitment. Tell me, just as a matter of interest is the London loading allowance pro rata - it's not a trick question, I genuinely don't know.

The only SA sats are in the DA & BR regions,also in Northern Ireland i believe.
