Almost a year ago to the day another 100 calls were added to my duty,I complained.

I was told the walks would be reviewed and it never happened,I complained.

I was told it was being reviewed via geo route.I bit my tongue.

Industrial action took precedent,then peak,so I didn't complain.

New Year and nothing was done,I complained.

I was moved to another duty.

Industrial action was called.

I voted yes in the vane hope that my working conditions would improve.

The strike was called off.

I continued to graft under unrealistic work targets hoping that the cwu would sort this out.


4 month later I'm hit with a pay cut,more work and absolutely nothing,nothing,done about my work load.

2 month time

I vote then leave the union.

I have no interest in IA though,I just want to work under decent conditions.Is that really that much to ask for?
It goes against all I believe in to cross a picket line,and if I'm forced out again (and it is effectively forcing me with this agreement) then I will go out.

Why is it forcing you?
If we manage to block this deal, the next stage is to go back to the table. Striking is a last resort, when all else fails. It is of course, a possible outcome. But so is being run over, when you cross the street. It doesn't mean it'll happen the next time you leave the house, does it?

I'm expecting the worst,then I'm happy when it doesn't happen

I dont think the union realises the extent of apathy towards this unfair and unbalanced agreement.

Im voting no then leaving. Some in my office of 300 delivery staff have already left sparking a debate as to whether it worth waiting to vote.

I dont think you can change the union from within, but you can leave and save £3.01p pw. Theres a huge funding crisis on the horizon isnt there?

Shame is, when I look back on my time in the CWU, and ask myself what it was I ever gained, it won't have been anything that didn't cost me an awful lot more.

You're right, and that is why I'm biding my time before jacking in the union. The outcome of this vote is crucial, if it's YES, a lot of commited trade unionists, like myself, who have been on every strike called, attended their picket line on every strike day, lost a hell of amount of day's wages over the years, only to end up continually worse off in terms of working conditions, will walk. We just won't be able to stomach subsidising a union that always lets it's core support down, and so badly, too.
