there's a facebook site called i've paid my road tax now go and fix some F!!!!ng pot holes. they been mentioned on radio etc.. online petition to number 10

three questions.

1. how many RM vehicles get damaged per week/ month due to pot holes.
2. any RM got injured while driving into a pothole
3. any private cars travelling to and from work endured any damage to vehicle or injury to person?

Stop driving so f******* fast and that way you can see and avoid all obstacles.

On my current duty I use about 1/8 of a tank per week but my cover uses 1/4 tank in onw day and no, I don't know how they do it either.

My dad who's retired and does not drive fast hit a deep one a couple of weeks back.

It cost him a new alloy wheel and tyre at a cost of £438

put in a claim to the council?? heck of a job.. first thing someone has to do is prove the council were negligent. when was the last time the road was inspected.
lengthy process.. car damage is easier to do or motorcycle, if they got legal claims on policy, they pay out.. millions of money is paid out in compo claims..

a soldier got kileed by a pothole the other day in wiltshire.. next day council filled in the pothole

listen to this.. if a driver has got a special alloy 4 wheel set, and a pot hole causes the alloy to crack, the council will only pay for the one wheel.

actually, potholes can cause damage nobody is aware of.. the inside inner wall is not visible from the outside. if it has been damaged internally and blows whilst driving, who's to tell what the outcome of the incident will be? would it be a driver coming to a safe halt, or a blow out resulting a car colliding into pedestrians?

that's steep £438 quid. a decent tyre is around 100. cost of alloy. is it a matching alloy? wheel balancing, tracking, vat

Happened to my in my old scooby, week b4 the MOT was due, new it was gonna be a fail but wasn't too bothered. Hit a pot i stupidly forgot was there. Tyre and wheel wrecked. Luckily it was only one of many things it was gonna fail on.

Late Ford Puma 8 spoke, took it to a main ford garage. Think the wheel was something like £169 + vat then a new low profile tyre they also replace the track rod end and adjusted the tracking. Complete check of suspension wishbone and bolts bushes etc, followed by a road test came to a whopping £438. Ouch

they can check the bush when the wheel is off. oh, dont say, they charged an hour for doing that? 5 min job. does that kind of krap still go on, charging an hour for 15 mins work or whatever, just like what started off in the 80's? plus dealers prices. pffttt britain eh

i'm sure your dad doesn't want that to happen again. have a look at insurance policy. if its got legal help, they can get it reinbursed. i heard over 150 million per year gets paid out in compensation.

A mate of his burst a tyre on a bad pot hole in his Rover just after xmas and tried the claim from the council. They said the worst weather in 30 years was an act of god and would not be settling any claims, i think its still going on.

Yeah i recon me old dad got a bit ripped off by fords but it was already in the garage awaiting the new wheel before he told me. When he hit the hole and the tyre went flat he pumped it back up and drove to a local tyre shop. They were really good as they removed the tyre and spotted the spilt alloy wheel. They then put the old tyre back on and balanced it before fitting his spare all for nothing. The bloke would not even take a drink of me old dad.

Second hand alloys were running at about £90 delivered on ebay but then you dont know if its of a wreck and he would still need a new tyre. In truth he just wanted sorted as he was going away to my sisters the next week.
