There wouldn't be any left in our office if our manager did that. Our office has been in the 'safety net' ever since I started due to complaints on HYS about B&H and does anything ever get done about it...

Postal workers face a hostile, thoroughly dishonest, management, we also find ourselves belonging to a union coming out of this charade looking as bent as a two-bob note, having signed away more of what little good is left of our conditions at work, which currently makes working for RM just about bearable, despite the previous 7 years of savage, unrelenting, attacks on our working conditions, a D2D deal worse than the previous one, and what amounts to a pay cut for everyone having to tramp the streets delivering copius amounts of shyte, aren't we entitled to be overly suspicious of the people, the processes, that has led the status of postman/woman to the deplorably low level it has reached? I do.

Its still a democratic vote - end of. If anyone isn't happy with the final result, thats hard cheese but I read the same crap in 2007 on here about stitch-ups blah blah. I sense you all feel its going to be a YES vote?

I fear it will, because it will be rigged, only my feeling. When you think about it rationally, how illogical does it seem, that postal workers would sign up to a deal that holds no benefits for them? Just doesn't add up. We've gained nothing, but will end up losing a lot, and there's an overwhelming vote in favour????

There is one woman in my office who is all for the deal even when I advised her that she would no longer be able to use her car. She is a floater and does not claim D2D and is part time, came after SDD so does not get ESA. Apart from the individual benefits she honestly believes that the changes are acceptable and is quite frankly surprised at the resistance in the DO to the change.

These are not my views but I did ask her permission to post them so people get both sides of the argument. I must add though even after 2 weeks I can't anyone else, but I will keep looking.

There's always one, or two, TBT. In every office. Still, will not understand how something so obviously, glaringly bad, will get voted in by the majority, unless, underhand methods are being used.
Without concrete proof, I only suspect foul play.

Sadly, if it gets in. It'll probably be, because of the people who just look at the short term financial gains. I can't be the only one, who's been asked "how long do you think it'll be, before we get our lump sum?". There are far too many people, who can't be bothered to read the deal for themselves. So they're easily swayed by lump sums, and propoganda. But mostly, the lump sums.

Theres more to this than lump sums and wage increases. Both union and management know we can't survive unless we change drastically. I'd agree with that but not sure everyone sees beyond the extra few quid in their pay packet. If we stay as we are we're doomed for sure.
