THIS MONTHS COURIER

Just received this months courier,the following is taken from the cover story:

'Not all changes will be easy or straightforward' says
Mark Higson.'Working patterns will change,some
units will close and there will be fewer jobs

We will discussthe changes with the people
affected and the CWU to make sure we have got them right.
Then we will handle the impact on people as sensitively
as possible.

'Our objective is to make these changes without the need for
compulsory redundancies'

'The CWU is currently balloting members on the agreement-the
main benefits are highlighted above

Also in the courier is a piece on new delivery methods,the two posties in a van will use a new golf trolley with two bags attached-surely the security rules will have to be changed? because at present the bag cannot be left unattended,which if delivering to blocks of flats this would be the case with this method

Or as i suspect on walks predominately made up of blocks of flats - the bag will be back over the shoulder and the weight issue not solved.

There is already a weight issue on walks which are predominately flats/stairs, 5 kg is the most you are supposed to carry in the pouch, the issue lies with what percent of your walk RM see as predominately flats?
