The Outcome of the Ballot
It will be interesting to see what the actual verdict is once the votes are in.At my DO we have a few undecided (mainly as they don't know what they are voting on yet),a few saying they will vote then leave the CWU,a few openly trying to sway others into a no vote (guilty as charged),managers even against it,and absolutely no one saying they will vote yes.
I wonder how many will see beyond the quick fix of £400 (that they are due anyway) and will actually back up their words. If our DO is a small sample of the cross demographic (I'm talking lino through supervisor through postie) then it will be a landslide NO.
Interesting to see how it pans out.

Re: The Outcome of the Ballot
I've noticed too, that managers at DO level aren't keen on this deal.
I suppose another crap deal, on top of the last three or four crap deals, gives them about as much room for manoeuvre, as it does us.

Some of the managers I have spoken to are none too happy. They too see the inequality of the deal, obviously from a DO perspective.DirtyHarry wrote:I've noticed too, that managers at DO level aren't keen on this deal.

I would imagine that their life is going to be a never ending round of improvements, cost cutting, later starts, later finishes, later Saturdays, uncertain yardsticks without revision tools in place, and last but by no means least a disgruntled staff to manage.

Re: The Outcome of the Ballot
managers and reps will be left to sort this sorry mess out at a local level and the pressure on both in my opinion will be too much to ask, particularly the reps. To expect someone to take all this on for nothing is asking too far too much.
After all we also have our rounds to do on top of everything else, dont even get phone calls paid for! Ithink many reps will call it a day when this comes in.
for what it's worth i think the deal will go through- fear will be the key.
AND MAY GOD HELP US ALL

I almost feel as sorry for them, as I do us. Only almost, mind.dvbuk55 wrote:

This is because certain Managers do not like change or implementing it.DirtyHarry wrote:I've noticed too, that managers at DO level aren't keen on this deal.

The majority of Management embrace the need for change and are quite happy to do so given our current position
Change for some is very difficult this includes management and delivery staff but given the agreement with the CWU this has become vital for the survival of the business and a secure future, and the security of the workforce, that is you
I recommend a yes vote, yes to a bright secure future, yes to a modern Royal Mail

Re: The Outcome of the Ballot
You're not an indoor worker by any chance are you? I know if I was, I'd be well pleased with a nice £20 supplement that all the outdoor staff have to take a reuction in pay and an increase in workload to pay for. Here's an idea- why don't we get all the indoor staff to come out and deliver these wonderful d2d's so they can actually EARN the £20 quid they will no doubt be rushing to vote YES for in the poll?I am number six wrote:This is because certain Managers do not like change or implementing it.DirtyHarry wrote:I've noticed too, that managers at DO level aren't keen on this deal.

It is just that some "facts" can look more appealing with a little chemical intervention. (Not speaking from experienceI am number six wrote:No just based on fact, clashcityrocker wrote:Are you on Prozac?I am number six wrote:

Is he a worker at all - notice the next to last line of his post - he doesn't say "that is us" does he and the composition still looks familiar - which would explain the "You"Wiggins79 wrote:You're not an indoor worker by any chance are you? Dvbuk I do indeed work for RMG however this agreement has more of an impact upon the delivery staff, than in my area of work, and you will reap the benefits in the long run.dvbuk55 wrote:Is he a worker at all - notice the next to last line of his post - he doesn't say "that is us" does he and the composition still looks familiar - which would explain the "You"Wiggins79 wrote:You're not an indoor worker by any chance are you?
