BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION 2010 AND BEYOND AGREEMENT - BALLOT TIMETABLE

Further to LTB 235/10, the Postal Executive met today and agreed a timetable for a Ballot of the membership regarding the Business Transformation 2010 and Beyond Agreement.

The purpose of this LTB is to advise Branches and members that the timetable is as follows:-

Ballot papers despatched Friday 9th April

Ballot closes Last posting Friday 23rd April

Thanks for your speedy response but as we already knew that the deal was a yes to (recommendation) was this a unanimous vote from the PEC or were their abstainers or even dissenters in their ranks a rough idea would be nice no names!.

The government will not lift a finger this side of the vote, there is no time for parliment to do anything in terms of passing the pension element of the PSB before the GE.

I suspect the deficit announcement is being kept quiet untill after the GE, I wonder if RM were leaned on so as not to create awkard questions and problems for the government.

We are in the hands of the next government, what they will do exactly and when is anyones guess.That said if we have Dave Cameron and his merry men then the pension is safe but with a price tag of a sell off.

I bet Dave and co will use the pension to claim to be the saviour of RMG.

Why are the agreed work standards not part of the agreement?

Because the key was to get the committment - Now independent engineers etc will be consulted along with ACAS who have experts in this field. They will form an appendix to the agreement is my understanding!

Shared vans and work rates are essential as CDV have been listed as a delivery method and work rates come in to it via DTD into workload, no point in agreeing to DTD into workload without being certain that the new work rates which take into account DTD are up to the job.

Saturday guidelines are not a issue as 1 in 4 sats off is not mandatory, they need to be availble when revision activty starts so the mbrs can make a informed decision if they want the saturday off planned into the local revision. If the agreement said 1 in 4 sats off will happen for every person regardless of if they want that, then yes that would need to be in the agreement. Nobody has to move off their 5 day week.
