Good questions to ask my DOM please

Apparently in our office we're all gonna get a meeting with the DUM tomorrow morning, so given this golden opportunity what are the best (sensible and not insulting) questions we can put to him ?

Anything that gets him to reveal the truth behind the "spin" on this deal or maybe that shows his own lack of knowledge on it.

Simple,Ask him how many hours will be put back into your office to deal with D2D into workload and the new delivery methods.

you could also ask about having to meet the standard set by the top10%, hows it achieved and what happens to those who can't make it. i asked our manager and he made a real idiot of himself trying to answer.

The deal allows the closure of up to half of mail centres, surrendering workers' lives and a quality network to Royal Mail's thirst for profit. Compensation for those affected are better, but many will not be able to travel hours every day to their new location and be forced to out. Many delivery offices will also close.TRUE OR FALSE

If he is anything like ours, when we had our meeting to explain the new agreement, anything contentious or awkward he threw over to our union rep to answer.
He appeared to be enjoying the position that he found himself in whereby he was able to let the union rep field the crap.

To give him credit though, he did describe the deal as "fantastic" for Royal Mail. So no attempt to hoodwink anyone.

1) If and when, we agree new delivery spans under the proposed agreement, say for example 4 hours, will that be the maximum delivery span for the office? Can that be changed (increased) in the future?

There are no longer any maximums were delivery spans are concerned!

The agreement states on page 23.
Delivery Spans
Royal Mail and the CWU agree that the length of the delivery spancan be an enablerin bringing about mutual benefits. From now on, within the process of duty revision negotiations, must be looked at in context of an enabler rather than a fixed amount of time to be aimed at. In essence, the span will no longer be an objective in itself.

I'm sure he'll also tell you about 'the menu' of options, word to the wise this is a guide as to how things can work in theory....but 'The Menu' of options is not part of the agreement!! you may (and i believe everyone will) end up with somthing very diffrent in future.

You could ask them to double check the ICS or PBS bonuses if paid will still be.

You could ask if the 75/25 split will be applied locally.

You could ask are we in in the top 10%

No ft, that would be too easy - even I can answer that and I don't even know where it is. To watch him squirm ask him how many hours will be taken OUT...... and what time does he think he'll be working until on Saturday - 2, 3, or 4.
