I have been speaking to my rep today about the proposed agreement, he said that the doors to doors are going to be 6 max and that they will come in 1 bag to be posted through the door. He said that we will work no later than 2pm on a Saturday, and that the new deliveries will be based on a 4am start as Royal Mail is only taking away the 5am ESA not 4 am? I am voting NO! but how true is the 4am starts, would it work and would we still get ESA?

Well the official (i.e. CWU stated) finish times for Saturday are 3pm residential/4pm rural for a start.

Ask for proof,guarantee he can't provide you with any.

Can he show you where the max figure of 6 came from? It's not in the agreement.
D2D may be automated in the future and put in 1 biodegradable sleeve/envelope and trials ar ongoing in Swindon but that is possibly something for the future.
4am start and 2pm finish = 10 hr day. Not impossible in theory on a 4 day week but you would have to know when the mail is going to arrrive at your DO. Will you have a Walk Sequencing Machine in your unit? I think it highly unlikely you will have enough mail on site to justify a 4am start but he could be right.

And how often do you go over 2pm at present? couple of times a week,maybe more.My duty is 'planned' to be a 2pm finish (Ofcom set I believe) doesn't mean I can actually finish at the 'planned' time.

And another thing,if rm are so keen to get us to do the hours we are paid (ha aha ha) why would they give an hour/half an hour leeway on a finish time?

If you have any outlying offices that are to be fed from these WSMs then your walks/duties will get theirs last.

No limit according to agreement "To coincide with the introduction of the national agreement unit payments will cease and the 3 items per week cap will be removed."

Nothing specific in the agreement on this so I doubt it. However various senior CWU members have intimated that this is a possibility in the future.

No he is misreading their intention. The 4am ESA stays as is the 5& 5:30 ESA has been surrendered to help pay for the Delivery Supplement. The ESA for 4.00 starts has no bearing on the 2010 proposed deal whatsoever.
