Can CWU force RM to reveal latest results ???

Hi there.
Is there any way the CWU can force the issue of RM announcing their yearly results which were due at the end of June to prove to the public and whoever else that they are lying when they say there in no more money "In the pot".

Is the reason in the delay no more than proving the company is still thriving.We understand the company needs to move forward but they want to do it at our expense which as we know will then result in up to 40,000 redundancies. :lfo

We need someone well known to the public on our side to ask publicly.

How about one of the MPs that the CWU sponsor?

And not to ask once, but to keep on asking until the results are published. Be a pain in the ass.

Oohh.......problem he/she would loose their promised peerage.

LET'S FACE IT GUY'S IF WE'D MADE A LOSS HE WOULD HAVE BEEN RUBBING OUR FACE'S IN IT AND USING IT AS A TOOL TO BEAT THE UNION WITH AS WELL AS USING THE PRESS TO PUSH HOME THE POINT. THAT'S WHY THEY HAVE HELD BACK THE RESULT'S CAUS'E ONCE THERE IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN HE'S GOING TO HAVE EGG ON HIS FACE AFTER TELLING US THEY'VE GOT NO MONEY.

Let's just face it. You know it and i know it.They our withholding the results for last year because once the public see them they will say " why cannot you give the posties a decent pay rise" If we our running at a loss why have :lfo :cfo and all the managers been given a big bonus?

Spot on! And if the CWU have their wits about them and get the figures in the papers this could really be a "Win-Win" situation for us.

Over 300M quid profit rumoured. They'll probably come with the ' we've got to put it into the pension fund ' bullshit

Think they used that excuse in the 6 monthly figures which said they`d only made something like 22M profit so they`ll have to think of another one. They should get adverts such as the flyers with the management bonuses that we`ve seen into all the papers, along with the RM profits when they finally release them.
Makes me sick when they compare profits with other companies or when they moan that profits are down. At the end of the day it`s still a profit and that ain`t bad when you consider we have to provide a service that`s a guaranteed loss maker into the bargain.

as far as i know they have to publish their figures at end of the month and they are rumoured to be around Â£340 million

This may be a bullsh*t rumour but one of the lads in work who knows what he's talking about and who I trust, told me that RM may NOT publish any figures for the year,this will lead to a huge fine off either the regulator or the government but they're willing to take the hit rather than reveal a huge profit.

Can anyone confirm this?

It wouldn't surprise me if it was true.

But what a cracking story for a newspaper to get their teeth into.
Public company takes huge fine rather than reveal profits.

How does the freedom of information act play on this one? Can they hide behind confidential commercial information?

That would surely prove to everyone, public, government,posties that have been crossin our lines, what a real bunch of lyin w*****s they have been working for.

When the figures are published the CWU should HIRE a highly rated accountancy firm to go through the R.M. Accounts and expose where RM have massaged / hidden money ( e.g. money put in to special project that don't lead anywhere / investing in technology that won't be use for several years, just to spend money and lower this years revenue.....But low & behold....Next year....we suddenly make a massive profit....AND ALL THANKS TO ALLAN PUSHING THROUGH HIS CHANGES.....good old Al....then leaves with a parting gift of Â£Â£Â£Â£Â£Â£Â£ )

Only by hiring a Firm with a high profile / reputation within the financial sector can the CWU repudiate RM claims of not making any profit
