No access for flats - how long do you wait?

If the service access is off, I give every customer who has mail a buzz and wait a minute before moving on.

What is the actual supposed time we should wait??

I don't even bother buzzing the individual flats, no access is no access, take it back, tell the bloke in the cage, take it out again the next day

You HAVE to buzz the flats that have mail.I buzz wait a bit then move on.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

1. Try open door
2. Try open door while holding in service button
3. Press every button twice quickly - once while going up and then once when going down the buttons
4. Wait 15 secs - the time it would take someone to get up off their arse and answer
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

as postman says you are supposed to buzz individual flats that have mail to try to gain access, my lino reckons even flats that dont have mail, if you were caught not buzzing they would have you for wilfull delay

Just buzz the Trade button if its not working bring it back. Then haunt the living daylights out of your managers till they get a fob/key from the council or landlord. if you mither them everyday you wil come up trumps. other than that kill the mail off. the residents will kick off then...

Ignore your lino,he aint the one getting shouted at if they come out looking for their mail and you haven't got anything for them.Buzz the ones with mail,end of.

Someone asked the Cluster DIM this at a WTL and we were all told to ring no more than 4 flats if you can't gain access after that bring it back.

Normally you get to know people that are always in and will kindly let you in if you buzz them first.

I normally buzz half the buttons first and wait for a bit then try the other half. I normally get it :Very Happy Then as i climb the stairs i hear "hello hello" coming from the intercom :left:

press every button once, if no answer don't just take it back for redelivery tomorrow, our regulator says we must not hold on to any mail, so kill it all off, funny how quickly someone will sort out the problem then.

I try the ones that I have mail for. I reckon those closer to start of round get around 30 seconds to open door.


those at end of delivery closer to 10 seconds :shock:

Glad i'm day-off, Sky weather is just a big blue screen with 0 on it :funneh

Ours says you don't have to stand there buzzing every flat, and I wouldn't anyway. On the bit of collapsing I take I have never got in 2 out of the 3 blocks I do because nobody ever answers and I ain't standing there all day.

Had a guy who used to buzz every flat whether they had mail or not, until someone said they were going to get their shotgun out and blow his f**kin head off. Needless to say he doesn't do that duty any more
