9 day fortnight

Just under 9 hours a day,with extra indoor work this seems to be easier to achieve than 4 day weeks, is this the way ahead?

If everyone did these 9-day fortnights, it would guarantee a Saturday off every 4th week

Most will opt for 4 day week due to the 5 day weekend every 3 weeks.
Payment will be longer deliveries though.

An alternative way of going about it, finish on a Thursday and not back till Tuesday. Whichever way you do it you get a 4 day weekend every 4 weeks

Not sure I understand what you mean, hope you don't think it's a 4 day service.

Rest day covers only need to do 3 different duties to cover the week.

RDC covers 2 duties,the 4 day week works in groups of 3.

You won't necessarily be on 5hr+ walks!
It does though depend on how big your office is.

If your walks are roughly 3:30hrs then it could be a goer.
You will lose 1 walk for every 2 sets of duties (4 walks)as you should absorb 1/4 of a duty.Wed to Sat gives you enough time....just.
The problem is Mon and Tue which are the light days and you have to fill your time out.
To do this you would have to have an amount of part timers,and you would also need some full timers to be permenant Mon/Tue rest days to absorb the IPS and prepping.

It can be hard work to work out,but if you can it is worth it for the time off.

It's definitely a 3 to 1 rotation, the 4 day week works with a 2 to 1 rotation.

4 day week is the only way to guarantee full time jobs and ensure a decent rest period. 9 day fortnights would be a killer so im guessing thats why the 1 in 4 sats have been mentioned in the agreement. RM would never agree to someting that is palatable to the workforce!

4day week would mean more saturdays off and more days with families rather than hours.

More time out of the office when WSM are in which can only be a good thing. I'd much prefer a longer delivery and less time sorting.

They would fit in with the 3 pm last letter clause as well ( i think)
