So if has most likely it is a yes vote, will we have to deliver all the election material for nothing? in past years the general election as been a big pay day for us with a payment of 3.5p an item.

election material is not part of the deal and you can refuse to do them

Two days ago i delivered to every address on my round as did the whole office for election leaflets for LABOUR. They were all addressed not like households. Was told most election material will arrive like this and have to be delivered the same day.

The GE ones are paid for by the Ministry of Justice every political party has their leaflet delivery paid for by the MoJ. The MoJ paid for ones have not been sent out yet and will not untill the GE is called and parliment dissolved.

Same here mate, i had the Labour leaflets last week plus Lib Dems as well , they seem to be only targeting certain walks in the office at the moment though, my delivery is mostly to middle to upper class pensioners so i got leathered , neither party used Royal Mail either (think Lib Dems used UK Mail)

I read on here recently that we will still get paid separetly for them as they are issued through a different political office.. but they will in the future come as a d2d trust me do they think they're gonna pay us hundreds of £'s to deliver them or pay us £20.60 / £10.30 if i were in office i'd know what i rather be paying out, so kiss good-bye to the 3.5p.

This would mean overtime if 1 the call rate on your walk was less than 100% it always is if you have had a revision in the last four years 2 you need replenishment IE extra bag drops waiting time for bags or walking to and from for extra bags!.

Thats normal posted mail then rather than GE/EE canidate mailings.

Every canidate is entitled to one free posting to every household in his/her patch with the MoJ settling the bill.


RML did offer the CWU a alternative deal which was £1 a week payrise and no payment, it was turned down as we were so close to a GE and there may be a further election sooner rather than later if its a hung parliment.

If political parties are using DSA for their normal postings they should be named and shamed for not supporting the RM

My part of the world they deliver their leaflets using activists/volunteers and then send out the GE canidate mailing via RML paid for by the MoJ on top of that volunteer delivery service.

Went to every door last week with Council Tax letters and what was stamped on the top right-hand corner of these letters - Yep TNT. Royal Mail & us getting shafted again off our own shareholder..
