39 hour week

Not sure if this has been asked BUT when does the 39hr week begin ...................if the agreement gets a yes vote?

whats the bets its just a paper exersise and they just take 30 mins off monday and tuesday............the light days

Why would that be a paper exercise, if you work half an hour less on Monday and Tuesday???

No perceived benefit for the workforce = pissed off unit = more likely to strike = end of trust

Is that a reffrance to the shorter working week.....or the whole agreement.

But if you get half an hour off your workday on the Monday and Tuesday, then that is a shorter workin week and not a paper exersise.

Call me a moaner but if ever there was a chance for our union top brass to get anywhere near the 35hr week it is now .
Massive automation program and RM claiming huge time savings and all our negotiators come away with is one hour and 24 000 job losses, and in three years time it will still be 1hr and there will be more job losses.
Still not to worry we might get another bite at the cherry when RM bring in those rocket boots

Page 72 of the agreement.

shorter working week.

The one hour reduction will be implemented in two phases. There will be a reduction of 30 minutesor credit given (either aggregated to give additional leave or taken as shedueld attendance by employee choice) When the mail centre is walk sequencing mail for 50% of it's catchment area. The final 30 minute reduction will be implamented (along with phase one 30 minutes if not already deployed) when the Mail Center is walk sequencing mail for 100% of it's delivery units.

yeah and you will still be delivering to the same ammount as you do now mon-tues @7.30 wed-sat 8 hours

I have lots of gripes about the agreement, but thats not one of them.
