When will agreement be posted to members.

It is disgusting that after nearly 3 weeks since the agreement was released nobody has received a full copy through the post to read at their own leisure.

It has taken 4 months to agree this deal.

Will we receive this deal with the ballot papers and be given only a short time to decide.

In my DO there are only 2 staff that have seen the deal online, the rest have just listened to the snippets that we have told them.

Why has it taken so long to post the full agreement to all staff?

How do you sell a sell-out? I doubt that they can find a way of dispensing it to us in a manner that will bring the desired resolution; perhaps they need to arrange a free sample of KY Jelly with each mailing? From everything else that I've gleaned from the discussions upon this site it seems that it will be mired in ambiguity and I for one don't expect that it will earn any points from the Plain English campaign as regards clarity. Trying to dress it up as anything obviously less than a wholesale capitulation and a positive spin for retrogressive working conditions and contemporary slavery is perhaps why they're struggling?
It's still getting a nice fat 'x' next to the NO box on my ballot paper...

This latest agreement is the end result of the last 2007 P&M agreement. I can specifically remember Bob Gibson being in Belfast advising us to vote against the P&M sellout warning us to reject it as he believed that if it were implemented then we would be on the road to ruin. I refer to parts of that agreement involving households and absorption. Thus here we are on the verge of being sold down the river by Bob (who is blatantly advocating the acceptance of this deal) and his merry men. It only conjures up one image, that being Bob and co attempting to join the self preservation society. Dont get me wrong, there are a lot of posties who have and are shooting themselves in the foot by cutting corners doing favours for management by not taking meal breaks, taking out pouches etc etc, (idiots in view) but to be recommended a deal by our own union who are well paid to oversee our terms and conditions are improved, its hard to take it all in. Because for delivery staff it is feckin demoralising and ensures that managers are given carte blanche to run riot over the top of us. The household pay cut is only one issue but the agreement is so vague it can be construed and will be by management to basically make up the rules as they go along. Therefore, one household per day, 6/7 hour walks, joint workshops by management and local CWU reps? Does this mean that the rep will assume responsibility for any postie who is not doing whatever the thug/bully manager wants him to do? Im better off financially in the position I am currently at but more importantly I have dignity and Il be f****d if Im gonna let the local thug/bully intimidate or coerce me into whatever he wants. Vote no to this agreement, there may not be a plan B but at least we will have put up some kind of resistance and send a message to both the heirarchy of CWU and RM.

If this so called agreement gets in their never will be a plan B we all owe it to ourselves to draw a line in the sand's of change and if the tide of profit shall cross it we will maintain that line through whatever adversity that shall befall us for that line in the sands of time is the only thing we still have left!.
