This forum is full of lively debates and information about this agreement from both sides of the fence. We all have our own views and we like to debate with those that don't share our views. However not everyone has access to this forum and the only information they are getting about this deal is from CWU/Royal Mail. Now that is bloody scarey!

Just think for one minute if you didn't have access to this forum and you only had information from CWU/Royal Mail. This could potentially scaremonger some people to vote yes. I'm not saying everyone that doesn't have access to this forum will be voting yes. However if people are basing the way they vote on what they hear from the CWU/Royal Mail and not hearing/seeing the bigger picture then it must be very difficult for them to choose how to vote. The CWU/Royal Mail criticisms of this deal are very few and far between. It's up to the feet on the street to spread the word about this forum so people can see what the CWU/Royal Mail are failing to tell us.

One thing is for certain the amount of information that has been sent to us by the union wouldn't lend itself to all the nuances of wording contained in the agreement. Now I believe we are to get a DVD - I just hope it is Debbie Does Dallas 2 because I really don't want to see some overweight union leader telling me what a good deal it is.

it's important to remember that this forum is based on opinion,and like every office there is much bravado.
but the facts are,members are still waiting for the promised full agreement to be dispatched to everyone,even then,it is somewhat cryptic,and reminds me of the whodunnit in eastenders,all will be revealed at the very last minute.
our branch has made no comment whatsoever,but perhaps more interestingly,the managerial briefing beared no resemblence to the joint agreement.
no extra saturdays off,this is merely an aspiration.
no geo-route revision,not enough planners.
i suspect that means no new relationships based on trust either

why should we as members of the cwu or indeed as employees of rm have to make such an important decision on condensed information that we are receiving about the agreement ,i for one would love to be able to read the 80 page agreement and then after having de-cyphered the wording and made my mind up as to how to cast my vote.the term mushrooms springs to mind--kept in the dark and fed on bullshit,

TBH with you, having that agreement won't necessarily help you much as it is so vague in it's wording.
I have been to two meetings with Ward in attendance, I haven't been convinced this is a good deal yet!
There is too much to consider that affects delivery staff when you sit back and think about it, and M/C losses.
And I don't think at local level management will let us have our say or be willing to negotiate! just have no trust always been
a cynic, is it any wonder.

So every member will then have a chance to read it before they vote and if they have any questions they can contact their Branch and get them answered before they make a choice which box to stick the X in!!

will every member be getting the 80 page copy of the agreement or a condensed copy made up by the cwu/rm, i imagine there will be little or any reference to the projected number of job losses or to what is proposed to rectify the .shortfall in the pension scheme.

That will be really really helpful. Will they be able to say what's in the syllabus for the workshops and the details of the revision tools, which aren't contained in the agreement? Will they be able to answer what the around 75/25 FT/PT ratio will actually be? Will they be able to answer what the projected job losses are intended to be over the 3 years of this agreement. Will they be able to say what the colleague share payments for years 2 & 3 will actually be? Will they be able to say if the 3.5% in year three will be paid? Will they be able to guarantee Royal Mail will stick to this agreement as they have NOT stuck to the previous ones?

Because if they CAN - then why aren't these details in the agreement?
