Reasons to vote no
DON,T BE A DONKEY VOTE
“NAY” TO THIS AGREEMENT !!
If you decide to vote yes to the agreement proposed by the union and management, you will loose over £20.00 (plus)per week in D2D payments !
You will be expected to deliver an unlimited amount of D2Ds 52 weeks a year including during the Christmas period !
You will be expected to walk for longer (no cut offs what ever the load):-
Page 23 of the agreement, “Delivery Spans”
“spans must be looked at in the context of an enabler rather than a fixed amount of time to be aimed at.”
“In essence, the span will no longer be an objective in itself.”
This will allow the management to ignore the previous agreements, limiting walks to 3.5 hours!
This agreement discriminates against part time employee’s imposing “pro-rata” percentages on the D2D payments.
The D2D load is the same for all !!
Send the union back to the negotiation table they are supposed to represent us not work to their own agenda.

Re: Reasons to vote no
Couldnt agree more with you. We had our WTL and was briefed on the agreement by our dim and our turncoat cwu rep who now seems to think its the dogs bol......! Cant believe us delivering posties have been ignored on what would be considered to at last be asking for something that would benefit us. Non specific delivery spans...whats happened to our health and safety issues on this, all the trials that took place and were recognised to be unacceptable. I feel totally sick to my stomach. Think the cwu are going to be surprised at our office of the number of posties who are thinking about leaving the union. Must admit i just want to leave. What next..being asked to work for minimum wage as RM claim that they are still not making the money they need in order to pay out vast bonuses to their managerial dimwits.

Re: Reasons to vote no
Just a point to bear in mind:
If delivery spans are limited to 3hrs 30mins, what do we do with the rest of our time to make up an 8hr day?
Indoor work will decline over time as more and more mail is automatically sorted at the mail centres and IPS will reduce.
With, perhaps, only a couple of hours of indoor work in the future, if we insist on retaining 3hr 30min delivery spans, we will be making ourselves all part-timers.
Give the Union some credit, on this they have played a blinder! LOL.

Re: Reasons to vote no
Yes,you are right royal mail and cwu need to work together for the sake of royal mail, but this deal is nothing short of a joke.If you vote yes,you will be lucky to be in a job this time next year after they make changes again. Why did we strike? for worse terms and less pay, well i didnt..........pinewood wrote:vote yes. listen to the long term outline of royal mail with cwu it keeps us in a job. job security is my and many of us main concern at our office thats why we are voting yes.

Re: Reasons to vote no
There is too many reason to vote no. If mail centre workers vote yes (which i expect) the deal will get through but mail centre workers have to realise no everyone will be offer vr some will be offered walk delivery posts with a take it or leave it attitude.
I think its terrible that the unions attitude the current deal is its the best in this current climate. What a defeatese union.

A secure job with a company that has no terms or conditions? A company that thinks you can do something because the computer says so. Vote yes to have a long term job with a company that will treat you like a donkey.

Re: Reasons to vote no
Yes that is a good point but the answer is not 5 hour deliveries. That is physically damaging. The answer is a correct FT/PT staff ratio that allows the correct staffing for the indoors part of the day and the 3 1/3 hr delivery part of the day. Or more flexible shift patterns. There is NO need to extend delivery spans to unhealthy durations.Straight4ward wrote:Just a point to bear in mind:

Re: Reasons to vote no
The CWU doing Royal Mail's dirty work for them, eh fishtank? Dividing and conquering. How long before your unit where you work pinewood is asked to make changes to accommodate Royal Mail? I can assure you it'll be sooner rather than later matey.fishtank wrote:It's ok Just_My_Opinion pinewood has revealed his true reason for voting yes.........pinewood.Just_My_Opinion wrote:pinewood wrote:vote yes. listen to the long term outline of royal mail with cwu it keeps us in a job. job security is my and many of us main concern at our office thats why we are voting yes.

You are talking rubbish, got any proof? Last year my DO was out in the local strikes with the MC staff walking across our picket line, nice to see where the loyalty lays.pinewood wrote:we at mail centers are always out on strike before you delivery boys drag your heels out to supports us.nowits our turn for a better deal

Re: Reasons to vote no
Upto 50% closures with nothing but "local protests" (NOT CWU HQ HELPING YOU!) 8 quid a week if you qualify and my understanding is most will not or if they do not nearly as much as that! Tens of thousands of job losses agreed by the UNION without a whimper and you think its a better deal? You must be f*cking MAD! Deliveries are going to be hit in the pocket with extra work load for a paycut and thats real bad but we may even get a few jobs out of it. Your only choice is a HUGE PAY CUT OVER THREE YEARS AND MASSVE JOB LOSSES! WAKE UP AND READ THE F*CKING THING before you come out with cr*p like your statement!pinewood wrote:we at mail centers are always out on strike before you delivery boys drag your heels out to supports us.nowits our turn for a better deal

Re: Reasons to vote no
Divide and conquer has always been rm agenda, if the deal gets voted through and don't think in future deliveries will support mail centres when on strike. Especially the ones that lose their jobs. And the union will be broken too.
