There are those in our office which say they won't lose anything under this agreement as oncecyou are a
over 50 your supplements are protected by grandfather rights and length of service and that they can't take anything away due to pensions or something please clarify??

Wether you are over 40/50/60 it was an eary shift allowence that will be taken away to be incorperated into the new 20.60 Supplement

Grandfather rights will cease

Essex mum Though in retrospect I actually lost mine 8 yrs back but still losing money with the new agreement

i believe they are wrong, as from April you are No longer allowed to take your pension until 55, so presume you are no longer protected until 55.
As far as pensionable allowances are concerned I think they can freeze them and just pay you it in your final year thus on paper protecting your pensioable pay. I am sure there will be someone on here who knows if this is so.
