Was covering one of the longest walks in the office today for first time. There were these letters from the council about sanitation or something to be delivered to basically every address ( over the course of next few days I imagine ) well today most of them were in with my mail ( Im 25 hour ) and worst of all nearly all of them were missorted into the frame which I noticed when I was out - i'd have mail for 16 then it'd go to 14 then the sanitation letter for 14 then it'd go to 12 then the sanitation for 16 then 14's then other letters for 12 then 10 then the sanitation letter for 12 etc was an absolute nightmare. Not only that but too many other letters for my liking were missorted some for different streets on same walk an age away ( long walk as I say ) and a whole 10 letters for one address on another walk MILES away from the area I was delivering.

Now I am not a grass and dont wanna get anyone into trouble and have that tag but at the same time it took me much longer today on a walk that was always gonna take me long anyway and thats not fair on me especially when it looks like many letters ive endorsed ( and they dont let us endorse m/s if its on same walk - for eq ) and sent back I just couldnt be arsed delivering. So do I tell management to tell the sorter whoever he may be ( I dont actually no ) to tighten up or does the buck rest with me? Its not fair that im the one who suffers for someone elses incompetence.

Personally, I would have a nice word with the sorters and ask them to please just take extra care. If it continues, then speak to the DOM.

There are a few in our office which can't/don't sort very well. I'm sure one of them just sorts the mail to the nearest 6 inches.

If im doing a round that has been thrown off by someone else (including managers on occasion) and i find missorts whilst out on the round then i bring them back to the office!
I also ask who threw the round out then casually mention it to them that there was a lot of missorts
If it was anything important like a recorded then i would mention it to dom just to cover my own back.

On my walk all my missorts go back in the box endorsed m/s, I don't throw in my walk so if they said go back and deliver them i would just post them through the letterbox of the house they had been missorted to

Prime example happened to me today. Im 25 hour and have my own cover duty. Awful day for a tuesday. 5 bags over 14.5kg average.

Get to house number 88. 1 letter. 90, 92. letter for 88. 94. letter for 88! and again twice on tow other streets, oh and a tonne of mispreps as well! Winds me the f**k up as I look a tit posting the mail into pillar boxes.

Just put m.p (mis prep ) on the front then take it back, don't run round in circles

I'm a newbie (started Nov) but got into a bit of bother over this recently. Basically was told that you should endeavour to deliver all mail on your round up to your time otherwise (you can hear it coming can't you) it can be construed as wilful delay. Any over your time should be endorsed "Under Inquiry" as "Miss - Sort" isn't a approved designation.

Also. I do try to make the effort to post first class mail. Others can go in the pouch off bag. Whatever you do. Don't take any mail home to be returned to the frame the next morning.

Best to say, in a General sense to Manager without pointing fingers, that you often have a considerable amout of mis-sorts, and what is the best way to handle them. If you have a good one (ha, Ha,) you could always suggest that this be brought up in a W/T/L session--but if you know who is prpping up for you have a word.
