Finally had our meeting today

Well the Doms told us about the deal anyways in thier words as our rep has gone AWOL eversince. It did'nt go down well TBH. I think those who had thier doubts in our office about voting NO, well lets just say No is what thier gonna get from us. We had the doms in knots and as usual they could not answer the questions we raised yet they want us to vote yes?? As the doms thought they had calmed the situation and made out our jobs were on the line unless we accepted i threw another spanner in the works regarding the unlimited delivery span lol, lets just say that never went down too well so i think its safe to say a no vote is defo the majority from our office.

A pay cut,extra workload, longer saturdays,unlimited delivery spans, surelly no one will vote yes to this eh?

yeah same with us, managers unable to answer questions yet they expect us to vote yes on it, more work and less pay and they expect us to be happy

I admit we have a fair share of spanners at our place like every other office and even watching thier faces today in the meeting was priceless. Was funny though every question was answered with "I dont know", funny as fook. Yet our gaffers had thier management briefings yesterday which they apparently went through every sentence of the agreement for 3 hours and even they are none of the wiser.

You gotta ask yourselves this...... if you went to buy a house or even a car and the seller could not answer you simple basic questions would you go ahead and buy it??? Like fook would ya!!

Guys had our 10min breif by the shift manager lastweek which amounted to some printed powerpoint slides on a flip chart which he duly read word for word and to his credit he did say that any questions would be sent to rachel black or something who is the RM answer machine to this deal and any aquestions should be submitted to her as no manager should be putting their personal slant on this deal

Similar here today too, Manager said 'you can ask questions but not sure i'll be able to answer them'!!
That said they don't need to sell it to us they have the C.W.U. for that now.
Amazingly had around 8 ppl sneakily still trying to prep their walks during the session, for some this will never sink in sadly only worried about today's finishing time.

Haha.. with some of em.. the finish time is the be all and end all of this job.

Everyone loves a flyer, but those days are gone. I now expect to work my full hours every day, i've just accepted it.

Whatever they throw at me, tons of mail, new deals, whatever... I start on my time, and finish on my time. No car, no overtime.

Our manager has his tuesday meeting at 8:10 but the start time for part timers is 8:30 is this normal for offices?

At our wtl we had one of the better higher ranking lino's whos a decent bloke tell us the managers have now all had there debriefing about the deal and from what he's been shown its not good for delivery staff,and we'd all get the chance to vote yes or no.Where as our rep is pumping the yes vote.(he does'nt deliver d2d's).

Funny as feck today at our meeting,manager telling us to vote No and Cwu rep telling us Yes.couldn't make it up,could ya ?
Manager says don't know to most questions and will need to find out answers for you???? London used as an example saying they will be £20better off as they don't do d2d.
Also usual guys running out of meeting so they can finish early.

What were the questions you asked that couldnt be answered? Surely all the answers are in the agreement somewhere if they looked hard enough as its meant to be that good!!!!!!!!!

Our Union Rep may as well have had a shirt and tie on as he was backing it to the hilt!! It's the only deal you will get were his words!! Great!!
The only bits of the presentation our DO showed were the lump sum and pay rise ...(oopps i mean cut) figures !!

Much the same in our office. Great deal, the only chance you'll get. Unanswered questions, shaking of heads. The final embarrassing moment for management and the union rep(surprisingly) and possibly the heavy swing to the no vote was realizing the 2007 pay and modernization agreement would still be in place along with the 2010 and beyond agreement. (This agreement reaffirms the 2007 Pay and Modernisation Agreement, concludes all outstanding Phase 4 negotiations, and builds upon the November 2009 Interim Agreement Key Principles – thus enabling the successful transformation of Royal Mail into a modern, dynamic and world class company). (Definition of reaffirm- To affirm or assert again). That’s a no vote then! Oh, and don’t forget your lapsing!
