I see a lot of disgruntled delivery staff complaining about this deal. The question I have asked myself as a driver is if the tables were turned and the drivers mc staff etc. were losing an allowance would the delivery staff back us. My experience in the past is when us drivers have had issues the delivery staff have had a "doesn't affect me so why should I care" attitude and this sticks in my mind. From a drivers point of view this deal looks ok. I may be selfish but from my experience the delivery staff have not shown any loyalty when I've needed them. Why should I return the favour and vote no?

I woudn't ask anyone to vote on such a complex agreement as a "favour".
If you have read the full agreement and consider it a fair overall agreement then by all means vote to accept it.
However i would make one suggestion or question if you like.
Do you think as an overall business this agreement is the right direction to be heading?
Delivery staff have many more issues with this agreement than simply losing an allowance.
And many of those issues like performance standards,unrealistic workloads and an unwillingness to deal effectively with an out of control management structure will in the end effect us all.

This is the bit that has not been clarified one way or the other. The wording of the agreement is a bit vague. How can you be so sure this will not be addressed as the union will be involved at every stage. Surely if the above continues the union should step in and refer back to the agreement.

This is the bit that has not been clarified one way or the other. The wording of the agreement is a bit vague. How can you be so sure this will not be addressed as the union will be involved at every stage. Surely if the above continues the union should step in and refer back to the agreement.

Just remember mate you may be needed in a delivery office near you. Make sure you way that scenario up too.

Exactly what Royal Mail want! Dividing and conquering! You probably do have a point to some extent rmdriver. The past is indeed the past though. Maybe we all need to take a step back and help each other from now on and not look after our own units. rmdriver yes deliveries are getting absolutely shafted in this agreement and as you say the agreement looks OK to you. However how long before your job or unit is subjected to your terms and conditions and even pay being slashed? We all need to stick together on this agreement and in the future. So rmdriver I can assure you that you would have my support in the future should you need it.

I hate saying this but the staff in mailcentres eetc. do not know how lucky they are.Toilets on demand consistent working temperatures ,not getting wet and subsidised canteens .I wish i could have some of that.If we were ll swapped around to do each others jobs I am sure RM would get the leavers they want.

Spot on which is why the delivery supplement is for all in delivery even though it is a derisory pittance for all concerned!.
