Two ballots?

Been told that there are to be two ballots - one for Royal Mail Letters and one for Royal Mail Group.
I'm in favour of 99% of the Agreement but the D2D section needs sending back. It can't be right that staff who currently do 3 D 2D's a week should lose money (£14.00 a week) as a result of the changes. There should be protected earnings to staff who did 3 a week of £30 in addition to the delivery supplement. Or a back dated pay increase to 2009 or both.

Royal Mail say they will save £600m over the three years as a result of the deal, the CWU say more like £800m, so the money is there.

Should I spoil my ballot paper by scrawling D2D beside my No vote. (Will this be a spoilt paper?)
A high number of spoilt papers would proportionately accentuate the effect of the No vote.

No, spoilt papers are counted but don't get added to either the Yes or No total.

If you have 1000 ballot papers returned and 40 are Yes while 35 are No and 25 are Spoilt, the Yes vote will carry by a majority of 5. Spoilt papers simply don't count unless there is a draw and some can be examined to see if they have been miss-read.

And yes if you mark the ballot other than with a X in an appropriate place it will not count.
