I've been a member on this site for over 2 years, and it's been at sometimes a vital source of information, long may in continue.

My opinion, I don't think we can afford a No vote.

I hope you get the chance over the coming weeks to listen to and challenge a PEC/NEC member on why/how this agreement was reached and then come to a informed decision when you get to vote on the deal.

Although it won't make much difference to me personally, I'll support my colleagues in Delivery and vote NO.

What is the point to this thread if you aren't going to tell us WHY you are voting Yes and WHY you think we can't afford a No vote????

My opinion is that most cwu (spit) members can't afford a Yes vote as it equates to a pay cut!!!

A 'No' vote will simply mean that existing agreements stand. It is not the end of the world.

it won't, but it also won't stop change which won't be agreed, then it's EA then were back to square 1

'Executive action' is only used as a threat. Usually what happens is the local rep is frightened into agreeing something not quite as bad.

If agreements are broken, they can be successfully challenged.

It seems you are in the 'appeasement' camp.

If it’s a no vote, we are finished {we are finished anyway when the Tories get in} it will be a question of how long you can stay out on strike for? How much money are you prepared to lose? they will walk all over you like before with ea, it will be the end of the union, and a much much quicker end to royal mail. I think a yes vote, like it or not, would still have the union in place when the BIG changes come in like, privatisation

Grow some balls, the yes voters are accepting a bad deal because they fear the worst. Well wake up it can't get much worse than the deal on offer but there IS a hell of alot of room for improvement

The union leadership go on and on about securing jobs and yet there is no definite agreement if this goes through that there won't be. All the bosses say is they will "try" and avoid compulsory redundancies. That means there's no guarantees!

This deal is a crock of sheet, designed to mislead and divide the workforce. To scrape every ounce of blood out of delivery staff until they keel over and die. Just so Crozier and his cronies can scrape off even more of the profits that we are apparently not making enough of. Yet we are not here to make them rich or to make a massive profits.... we are here to provide a public service something else that seems to have been forgotten

We want a fair days pay for a fair days work and to be able to provide a decent service to all members of the public..... anything less is unacceptable :cfo

Why oh why are people so defeatist.

if you think we are finished as a union or career, then vote with your head held high and with your principles and balls intact, because they are the last things that can be taken from us.

As for the tories, yes they will get in, yes they will attempt and succeed in part privatising us in the first instance and yes we will fight, whether thats as individual units (which appear to me to have a lot more clout than CWU HQ) or as a union largely depends on a no vote IMHO.

Who will stand in a year or two to take the tories on in a year or two, if we take this liberty now.

I dont think it will be the stormtroopers (activists), it will be left to members who vote YES now, and I dont think that they are upto a fight IMHO., if they were they would be saying no to a deal that fooks up so many of their comrades now.
