Due to NI being off yesterday for st paddy's day....we got snowed under today.....and wait till ya hear this....where told that lapsing would by cancelled today but we would be required to do it on saturday....it just gets worse.....looks like STREAMING on saturday for me. (i even offered to do my lapsing because i didnt want it on saturday but was turned down)

what is the union rep saying concerning this issuse as this should of been discussed at last weeks resources meeting and signed of if he agreed with it, if he did not sign this then get him to fire in a disagreement as the manager is probably chancing his arm

simple do your job properly on saturday then you wont have time to lapse, out of principle i would do my job properly and show them i dont have time to do it on a saturday, if you do it this saturday then be prepared for more saturdays

The St Andrew's Day Holiday (Scotland) Bill was approved by Parliament on Wednesday November 29, 2006.

It aims to promote St Andrew's Day on November 30 as a national celebration of Scottish identity and culture across the whole of Scotland.

What the Bill does not do

It does not automatically create an additional day off work or school
It does not oblige employers to change their existing pattern of holidays
It does not add to the total number of designated local holidays in any year
