well our rep's are supporting it but there again that could be because it gives them a reason for more release time ! not that i'm cynical !

Doesnt matter if the branch/rep recommends it or not. The members here have already said they will throw it out at a union meeting yesterday.

Well I will still have to fight for every minute of release time!
Don't think this agreement, if it goes through, will change that!
They hate releasing reps, they just like to pressure you in work time to deal with issues!
I'm cynical as well about some things!

I'm not rep but i feel sorry for reps, in our office the rep does really get any support. I would'nt be a rep, unless i had mirrors on my back to the knifes going in.

Well i am a unit rep and i think the deal is shite!!! However its not up to me to sell this shite its up to me to reflect the members views. Either way i am elected by the members to voice their opinions not impose mine and certainly not impose the cwu hq line hq dont elect me my members do.

Well said pete! There seems to have been a shift in recent years that make HQ and indeed some levels of Branch and Div think that they have the final say on what is and is not acceptable to the membership BUT when it comes to the vote WE are the dog and they are the tail - just as it should be. What makes these people electable is the fact that they can talk - they aren't more intelligent than we are - in fact they are what we are employees of Royal Mail now.

Our dom went to managers meeting yesterday and said that if we vote no it is only a vote against the pay structure and not the modernization plans.

Is this possible, surely the vote covers the whole agreement.

from todays meeting Dave Ward said the vote will be 29th March ending on 13th of April, he also said this could slip a few days and that Royal Fail want the vote asap and are putting the union under a lot of pressure to get it done

Is the mandate still in action if so april 20/21 could be a strike date could it not or soon after!.

He said that if we vote no on the deal they will see what royal mail do next, but they would not set new strike dates and the aim would be not to strike
