Contracted hours V actual hours worked
I was wondering with so many part-timers losing out when it comes to pro-rata payments how many actual hours over their contracted hours they work on a regular basis. Personally I average over 7 hours extra per week since the start of the financial year. If this was the true basis for pro-rata hours then I would say I`m owed a fair bit of back pay with regards to past bonuses etc.

We all hope that you are getting PAID for those extra hours! If not DON'T do them!

Re: Contracted hours V actual hours worked
You are mis-understanding what I am saying. Yes, I am getting paid for the hours I work over my contracted hours but the point I am making is the unfairness of the pro-rata payments we receive for various bonuses etc. when we average more than our contracted hours per year.Watchcote wrote:We all hope that you are getting PAID for those extra hours! I agree! I've averaged 40 hours a week since last June and I'm a part-timer on 30hr contract! Think we get shafted always, holiday, bonuses, xmas supplements etc!

If this new deal goes through we should do pro rata D2D.

If the deal goes through, then they will be in our workload and would have to deliver them as it would be "wilful delay".

Re: Contracted hours V actual hours worked
Im on a 30 hour contract and have done at least 2 hours overtime EVERY DAY that I have worked for 3 years. Although I am a reserve I ALWAYS cover a full time job. When I am on holiday my pay drops considerably. I think it must be illegal, but I don't know.

It must be time to take a stand against this exploitation of the workers. Any of you union big boys want to suggest what we can do?

Re: Contracted hours V actual hours worked
when i first started, part timers weren't allowed to cover full time duties, and obviously if they do this, as they do in our office, it means that more full time jobs are needed.

They are in our workload now, and will still be even if the deal doesn't go through.Watchcote wrote:If the deal goes through, then they will be in our workload and would have to deliver them as it would be "wilful delay".

I do belive it is illegal, an RM employee took RM to an ET and won a claim of his/her average hours worked, re their holiday allowance.

Yep, amazing how your whole working day is planned out, with NO regards for a break you're entitled too.
So, I generally claim the 20 mins at the end of the day as O/T.
If they can't work out a realistic work roster, tough on them for having to pay me O/T !
Usually though, and I suspect lots of P/Timers do this too, we don't claim, as it's too much hassle.
This will reult in a 25 - 30 hr working week, with at least 20% more time being worked, for no extra money.
Slave labour? Yep...

Any link or hard proof of this?? Think every part-timer would be interested in reading/seeing that!!hantsman wrote:yokel wrote:Im on a 30 hour contract and have done at least 2 hours overtime EVERY DAY that I have worked for 3 years. Re: Contracted hours V actual hours worked
Interesting links TBT! One thing puzzles me though, I am on a 30 hr contract working 6hrs x 5 days per week, but I am a reserve for full time job so work 10 hrs per week O/T (2hrs per day). Have been doing this for 10 months. My holiday entitlement according to RM is 22.5 days but the ACAS website says if I work 5 days per week I am entitled to 28! So at the moment I am getting 22.5 days @ 30 hrs, surely I should be entitled to 28 days @ 30hrs pay? Or am I getting mixed up??TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Some details on here I'll hunt it down and post a linkWatchcote wrote:Any link or hard proof of this??
