I was given a letter today stating that I'd been issued with a Stage 1 warning, due to the fact that I've been absent twice since I started working for RM at the end of September 2009. The first absence was for two days as I had flu; the second was a couple of weeks ago, when I had one day off because of a nasty cold. I followed absence procedures on both occasions by phoning the office early to let them know.
I was just wondering how much this is likely to count against me when it comes to deciding whether I've successfully passed my trial period or not? Any advice is much appreciated!

Well if your on trial then it must be different procedure to regular postie's. Do you know what your "allowed"?
To be issued with a stage 1 for attendance you mush have had 4 or more periods of sickness in 1 year or any period of sickness totalling more than 14 days. IIRC

I got a stage when I was a trialist so don't worry to much if this is the only thing they could get you on. If you do the job well and just get on with it you should be set on. Of course there is always the chance that they won't so don't bank everything on staying but I reckon you should be OK.
The only drawback is that they may extend your trial to cover the time your on a stage but I think that is standard.

Ive been off one day since I started at Royal Mail August last year.
I assume my trial has been confirmed.
Where do I stand in regards to future absenses and warnings?
