New agreement push

Is it me or is there more of a pr push on this new agreement, what with PEC members going out on the road to explain the deal to the local reps, more briefings at HQ for reps, and obviously in the letter I got from the CWU telling me to think carefully before voting. This did'nt happen in 2007 if i remember right, so why now? After all it only takes us up to 2013 at the moment. Also where are the details of proposed Mail centre/rdc closures? Finally what about the investigation into the harrasment and bullying that was mentioned in the interim agreement? Also why are there so many lump some payments as well?

Is the deal not that good then?

No, the deal is crap! That's why they're going to so much effort to try to convince people to vote for it. Which will almost certainly be effective, as most people don't bother to read the whole thing, and will just look at the "guidance", or listen at the meetings.

Now don't get me wrong. I'm not suggesting that anyone will be lying at these meetings, or in the letters and "guidance". But there WILL be a lot of spin IMHO. And that's what's likley to catch people out.

There will of course, be some winners. But is it really worth selling your collegues down the river, for personal gain?
