Sequence boxes coming in later everyday.

The Sequence boxes in our unit is coming in later everyday, we start at 5.30 am and straight on the IPS sorting till 6.15 then we get to throw our walk off for half hour till 6.45am, back on the sorting till 8.am then break till 8.20, then back on the sorting till both postcodes divisions is done, we are getting no time to prep our walks only that half hour, the sequence boxes arrive at 7 25, sequenced my arse, I have missorts for all over the UK in my box, the only good thing about the sequence boxes coming in late is, that it stops those doughnuts doing anything when they come in early… hee hee.
Going out after 10 30 I tell the managers I might go over, they ask "how come you will be going over" I just laugh!! Tell them later put me 45 minutes on please, they don’t listen, week later not been paid for it, they have a very selective bullying memory…. you have to fight for weeks to get the 45 minutes...

On the rest of your post thats one thing that does need to be addressed but for the time being you could bung in a grievance every time it happens.

Sorry when you say sequenced boxes do you mean frame order sequenced mail or normal mech sorted letters

You do a heck of a lot more ips compared to my small office as we are on it at 6.30am and off again by 7.30 latest. I normally get out by 9am and finish about 13.30 ish, if you go over at my place they pay up, guess ive got that bit easy.

Yes. frame order sequenced mail, not getting them till late, and there is always another box just mixed. throwing off the top rows is a killer on your arms as well...

That may be a health and safety issue you can bring up with your Unit Rep/Unit H&S Rep if you are struggling. It does not do any harm to raise the issue so that it is noted in case of any future concerns over your health and safety. If you get no joy at Unit level you can always take the matter up with the Area H&S Rep.

We have two frames that use only part of the top line for mail, otherwise all other frames use the top for packets if at all. The two frames are 'manned' by two guys well over 6' so reach is not an issue for them.

When you say the top row, are you meaning the very top of the frame or the 4th row (counting up from the bottom) if so and as far as i know the top row SHOULD NOT be used and if this is the case take it up with your rep, the top row in our office at least, is used for packets, re-direction cards etc etc, not for mail prep

I Mean the 4th row from the bottom, Packets go on the top. my mistake. but when all the letters are in order and I have two wings on the frame my right arm is killing me a few minutes...

If its taken you weeks to get paid for 45 minutes docket why do docket at all.

If i wasnt paid for docket i had done i certaintly wouldnt be doing docket again

Same in our office... when sequencing first came in we were getting 2-3 trays per walk all on the first van, now we only get 1 tray per walk always on the late van which seems to be getting later by the day. We now do more IPSing than before WS came in!

Hi Jenny - no matter where you take the mail from in the box it should be in sequence so try taking a tenth at a time from different parts of the box and thereby break up the height you are working at - it will only cost you a few seconds and your arms will not get so uncomfortable

on a saturday we only get 1 tray per walk on first van then 3 mech mail on last because our sorting office go out early on saturdays so dont have time to sequence ours. and they dont deliver mailsort on saturdays. utter piss take
