ANY INKLING REGARDING THE SCALE OF JOB LOSSES ,AND ARE AFFECTED MC STAFF LIKELY TO BE OFFERED WORK IN OTHER AREAS OF THE BUSINESS.

Yes, there will be job losses. Figures around 24,000 were being talked about at the National Briefing. Both RM and CWU anticipate the majority of job losses will come from natural wastage - early retirement and voluntary redundancies will play there part too. For those who wish to remain with RM I should imagine assistance will be provided for travel and relocation. Hence the importance of certain aspects of the Agreement in respect to no compulsory redundancies, travel expenses etc.

I think you will find that the CWU leadership have caved in to RM on this point as well. The position is no longer 'no compulsory redundancies' , the position is now "well no compulsory redundancies would be really nice but in the new spirit of driving profit levels ever higher....'

And there going to use the attendance procedure to there own benefit with stages being given left right and centre

Thats the worrying thing, why pay someone off when you can sack them for being ill.
