if you look at this deal when you are sent it you will see its a great deal for non delivery staff and yet the extra work load is on delivery staff are billy and dave so stupid they dont realise what they have done or are they just out for themselves surely we will vote no to this deal and vote these two jojers out at the earliest chance

As i have said in a previous thread - they need to go back & negotiate better terms for del staff - after all we
are bearing the brunt again (2007) agreement, let the other functions pony up for some proper reward for the ones
who again are bearing the brunt of the savings

It's all about splitting the work force and hopeing for a yes vote I've got to laugh at Royal Fail, before a vote is even taken they're saying that we're glad the deals been done now we can move on with the modernisation, WTF are the muppets on?

The problem is that a massive 86% vote for industrial action didn't do much for us last year and many of those 86% will reluctantly vote for the deal now with little confidence in the CWU anymore and knowing there's no real chance of Royal Mail offering anything significantly better if the deal was rejected. Yes, many of us will be worse off but Royal Mail won't be sorry if people leave as they still want to cut numbers and in most areas they won't have difficulty filling vacancies at £9.38 an hour ( £347.61 + 2% + £20.60 / 40 )

I think you'll find they do not wish to ailenate the indoor workers at the moment util they have the larger hubs set up ready to roll we know they want a 50% closures of mail centres so that ties in with the 25% cut in managers as well . the reasons are there you just have to read between the lines royal fail are devious bas**rds

Why is it in all deals the delivery section allways take the biggest hit now im not knocking any other section of R/M here but this goes all the way down the line even into your D/Os.

When i say into your D/Os i mean by when your called on the sorting it seems in our D/O only F/T walkmen go on the sorting for the whole duration .Drivers stand around drinking coffee,smoking .A/Gs dont go on the sorting and they sit on there frames until there enough mail sorted to throw in (Yes i know its not built into there contracted hours) .

Phgs do less and less work in our office they used do there own surcharge cards,redirections,deads but now anythink they used to do we the F/T staff do an we carry them, the lazy feckers in our D/O dont even answer the phone.

I am sick an tired of this baised way of working and how R/M DIMS think its right that only F/T staff should do all the work and to top it off we have a shite deal thats taken months of negs from our union to vote on and its getting a big no vote from me and hopefully the majority were that we leave us i dont give a toss.


Theres only one word for this deal if your in delivery and thats shafted

Monkeyboy, I think you will find that even phg's will vanish and the work done in the locker will be done as part of someones duty rather than do ips/ dual prep etc....that was something going around even before the IA...........so watch your office and make sure all work is covered by postman and not managers like I have seen in my office

Both they, and the CWU, have taken a YES to this agreement by us, for granted.
Still, when you think of the deals our membership have voted YES to, way forward, SDD, Pay & Modernisation, and now with this 2010 and Beyond, crap............Can we really blame them?

A very true reality. Food for thought indeed. How many unemployed men and women up and down the country would give their right arm for a job that pays £9.38 an hour? Regardless if they have to deliver D2D's to 800 houses whilst the person beside them has to deliver D2D's to 500 houses for the exact same cash.

Unskilled and well paid jobs are very few and far between. The unfortunate thing is, Royal Mail know this and are exploiting it.

However for the current employees of Royal Mail I feel it is wholly unfair that delivery staff are being asked to make the most sacrifices so the majority can gain. How can the CWU justify an agreement for it's members which only benefits some here and there?

Surely any sort of agreement should benefit ALL members of the CWU?
Surely the CWU should be representing all it's members whether they be part time, full time, deliveries, drivers, etc etc

They are quick enough to take £156.52 a year from me!
That's my car insurance paid for 4 months which at this minute and time seems like a hell of a better investment than the CWU!

We are all members of the same union so I think we all deserve to be have the same benefits.

Surely it's an employers job to 'divide and conquer' not the job of the union.

They might be staying put but minus the majority of subs from delivery staff...........

Why are lots of you slagging off indoor staff,for years in our office every unofficial dispute has been linked to delivery and there have been very many, every time the indoor staff have walked out with them. Delivery staff have been making 2 hours a day, indoor staff have to work to the final minute. All night allowance use to be pensionable, until an agreement voted on by one and all halved it so basic pay for all went up . Indoor staff have prepped deliverys for ages but never get part of d2d. Or is it the old chestnut you choose to work indoors so tough.
