Sick of it

IM sick of it all.

- Not getting paid for overtime u put on sheet.
- Getting summer holidays in april and then no more till november.
- Bags that are way to heavy forcing back pain
-Given hardly any time to get work done in the morning.
-Walk that is way longer than it should be which goes back to my first moan (Not getting paid for overtime u put on sheet)
-Dogs attacks- being bitten and worrying about tetnus constant fear of bites. , Customer Abuse , manager abuse, college abuse.
-No boxs resulting in heavier workload.
-standing in post offices after work in your own time waiting to get a recorded signed for etc.
-Thinking your being constantly watched by the public or by RM.
-Giro hunters that are constantly asking you for a giro ( and all that can u check for me crap) then dealing with the guilt when you dont have it.
-Unhealthy eating habbits - crisps etc only thing they sell at RM.
-D2D that get in the way of other mail and Missorted mail that makes u go running back up the stairs.
-Freezing cold weather at christmas getting soaking etc etc.
-having to pay almost a 10th of my wages on transport to get home etc.
-Pens that run out - forgetting d2d slips - standing in dog s**t.
-Having a Union that is totatly defunct and agrees things that make your conditions worse. - sigh
-Being tottaly knackered every day effecting life and relationships. u start to really lose touch with life - your happy to just ( not be doing anything because ur resting)
- getting up at crazy hours
- working satardays all the time
- getting one day off at a time which isnt enough .
-waiting months for shoes and other stuff.
-delivering papers that are jsut crazy heavy.
-waiting for missorts for an hour when u could be out.
-sitting in a van taken up to walk totaly squashed in with no seat belts that work etc.
-standing waiting for your mail to arrive at your box because the driver has tried to get his work done before he gets to you.
-Knowing the fact that other guys are finished 2 horus earlier than you.
-being generally knackered at the start of ur walk. and no wonder.
-trying to ask your dom something and he ignores you and u cant get it sorted.
- Customers that dont answer doors all the time .
-having kids asking you for bands.
-Dealing with local weirdos constantly.
-having a stinking pay cheque.
-hurting yourself on walks cuts to fingers etc etc.
-being in the same old area day after day after day.
-full timers that think your a worthless piece of s**t that tell you dont know anything about being a postman and that they are basically gods gift to mail. (not all are like that)


CHrist sorry i could actually go on and on but i am sick of it.

But i will continue because i dont give up i was hoping for a better future with this agreement but we still have the chance to vote NO and hopefully it will be amended.

Agree with nearly all of it - too much to read all at once!

1. Why is it the same, or very similar all over the UK?

2. What's gone wrong?

3. How can it be changed, for the better, for ALL - Workers, Managers, Customers, RM's reputation? ( It HAS to change, or else we'll all be in the crap later on!)

4. Historically, there's much to honour the Postal Service, but...for how much longer? CHANGE IS COMING, like it or not.

5. How do we avoid confrontation/strikes/rebellion? As looking at this site, many appear to be very aggrieved, angry and very dissappointed.

I don't have the answers, but these questions Must Be Addressed ASAP!

Carto are you telling your lino you need to claim before you go out? I asked the lino in question about this and he said that he keeps it on him because he's walking round checking who's completing, claiming and cutting off etc. This is total bullshit as he's nowhere to be found on the office floor . If you are lucky enough to find him you then have to argue with him because he will keep saying "there's not enough work to justify claiming today" to which I repeatedly reply "I do this walk every day, I know when the workload is too much and I need to claim in order to complete. It's either claim, cut off or bring back, what do you want me to do". We stand there repeating that back to each other for a bit until he gives up.

It's annoying because it's bullying, he must say that to the newies all the time "there's not enough work to justify claiming today" and they will just take it out and not claim for the OT they are entitled to... . This manager tried that with me when I first started. He told me cutting off was willful delay lol, said I wasn't working at the required rate and tested me on my prep rate. All on a walk that had been tested previously by both Union and management together and was agreed to be too big and too heavy. Said manager neglected to tell me this of course, he just thought he could bully a newie in completing it and not claiming when it was agreed an hour could be claimed every day on the walk.

Easy tell your scum bag spineless lino that you ain't taking that mail out you are only taking out what you have time for if he/she has a problem tell it that you will take it to the directors office via email to get an answer report it to the B/H people then take the matter to an ET you don't have to be un employed to use that service but don't take it on your shoulders like that it's not your problem,with regards to public transport if you are having to claim for it then tell your spineless manager that you want the money up front or you don't go out and tell the spineless twat that it is breaking the law if they don't pay you for the hours you do,full time staff learn to respect these people just because they do less hours that does not mean they are less of a person shame on them.I don't put up with it come out fighting you will feel so much better trust me.
