yeah some bloke got suspended before, but he was posting leaflets through everyones door telling them how to opt out and got caught, if you do it on this forum chances are you wont be caught, trouble is not enough customers use this forum.

Well what I do, is when a customer moans about all this junk. I inform them about RM opt out and how to do it. It is a RM service, so Simples

the fact that YOU cant go around putting opt out leaflets though everyones doors doesnt mean a mate / relative cant. Im sure a nice dinner out and a few drinks would be a nice treat for them too ;)

Fantastic idea. When we get hammered with 7 D2D's every week simply print out several hundred home-made leaflets explaining to customers the Opt-out. Me and my fellow Postie mate have already agreed on my day off I'll follow him on his round and post them after he's done the mail so he can't get done and on his day of he'll follow me on my delivery.

Can you imagine if 90% of the UK opted out!!! and Royal Mail were still paying us the D2D payment!! They'd be fuming HAHA!! It's no more than the greedy unreasonable bast**ds deserve. The opt-out campaign is in the pipeline I can feel it. Will be well worth the £8 for the ink cartridge.

Crazy thing is that no customers know about the opt-out scheme, Things would change if they did...

My leaflet would go something like...

Sick of piles of Junk Mail coming through your door?
Sad to see your once fit and jolly Postie reduced to an exhausted calamitous wreck?
Then why not stop all that Junk Mail, Save the environment, Reduce waste and get your Postie whistling again.
Opt to 'Opt - out'. Request to have all Junk Mail stopped by sending an email to optout@royalmail.com

Unfortunately, Royal Mail has never done much to promote the door-to-door opt-out and as a result few people know it exists. In 2008 we found out that less than 0.5 per cent of British household is currently opted-out of receiving Royal Mail door-drops. In comparison, 15 per cent of households are currently registered with the MPS, the main opt-out for addressed junk mail.

For 50quid you could get a contract with RM to deliver 1000 of them for you?!!!!!
Book your own duty and you will in effect be paying yourself so will get some of your money back!!! Well you would BEFORE the end of d2d payments.
