How much do Royal Mail get for D2D?

So if we get say 1.6 p for each house hold,
what are R.M getting, must be a lot of money because they say they are losing millions from the ones they are turning down.
So any one have any idea what they must be getting for each one, my guess if will be about 5p each..

just checked website.all depends on how many items you want delivered. the more the items the more discount.
starts at 5.9p per item up to 25000 d2d. and cheapest was 3.2p per item if you book 10 million

Mentioned this somewhere else the other day... i was speaking to a business owner who asked RM about delivering dr2drs for him and he was quoted 12p per item just for a thin 2 fold leaflet (of which we would have seen 1.67p)

Dont forget we not the only ones handing DTD, look at the manpower that goes in to getting them to the D.O. All comes out of the money charged.

Yes but our 'final mile' delivery of them is supposed to be the most labour intensive and costly part of the whole dr2dr handling process, which suggests that the profit margin on that 12p must be huge still, i'd conservatively guess at least 50% clear profit for RM.
