Get rid of D2D payments altogether

One of the biggest talking points at the moment is the Door to Door payment. It's obviously not fair, some winners but a lot of losers, especially part timers. It's creating a division amongst workers, and taking the focus away from other issues.
I've always thought it was strange to get an extra payment for something that you were paid to do anyway, in your working day. It was an extra £20 a week, so I wasn't complaining. However, I think the time has come to do away with any payment whatsoever. It's going to become a bigger part of our day to day duties (for those of us on delivery), and it will be taken into consideration when planning the working day. We don't get an extra payment for packing our bags, delivering packets, posting P739's, doing redirections, why should we get a payment for Door to Doors? Just because we always have?
I say get rid of it, simplify things, and give us a proper decent real inflation busting pay rise. A percentage that everybody gets. No confusion, no infighting, just a decent and proper hourly rate of pay, the same no matter of you work 25 hrs, 32 or 40.
Give us a proper inflation busting pay rise in year one, not spread over three years.

We DO get paid, it's an hourly rate. I'd rather get £11 an hour which will go up with yearly pay rises, than £20 (Pro rata for me) which will not be affected by future pay rises and could well be taken away whenever they feel like it.

I didn't mention working for free.

I'm talking about getting a proper wage, not some dodgy 'additional payment', which could get taken away. How long is it since the Door to Door payment was increased? 10 Years ago was it? My way it would be added to your proper wage and increased with every pay rise.

it will never be enough for some of these guys.NEVER.they keep trumpeting what the minimum wage is and they will be happen when they get it.not having enough brain cells to think, if we all got todays average wage then tomorrow the average wage would be higher.

putting that aside,we do get payed extra for them,ive always done them in duty time.its built into the offical prep tests.and it will be a cold day in hell before i do more d2d's for less money than the full timers in my office.

if they scrapped the payment all together i would have been happier,but they choose,,our own union ,to devide us once more with pro rota crap
