I deliberatly didn't include this option as I only wanted firm answers one way or another.
If members say to their rep that they are thinking of leaving, they will get the arm around the shoulder and a talk about everything the union has done for you, how we stood together on the picket line and how much they need members like you....EMOTIONAL BLACKMAIL...and most members will melt and agree to stay in a little longer.
I wanted answers from people who have made up their mind and will stick to their guns, one way or another.

The CWU gave us a bad deal in 2007 and instead of learning from their mistakes, they have done the same again, only compounding the problem...How many chances do we give them ? This is not down to the local members & reps who care about us, it's the national leaders who have let us down, they have consolidated THEIR position at the top table by SELLING out our terms and conditions. This is PERSONALLY going to cost YOU ££££, not just this year, but for the REST OF YOUR WORKING LIFE !

Unfortunatly the people at the top control everything and until the CWU leadership is changed I can only see a downward spiral for ALL postal workers.

I have thought long and hard about this question and I have to say that I WILL be staying with CWU. If this deal gets voted in then we need to change the CWU from the inside and bring it back to where it should be - mainly concerned with the working people - not with political posturing or Organisational influence.

Yes the CWU need to be Politically active and aware. It needs to have influence in all the business it has a presence in. It needs to move within certain circles, however none of this should be detrimental to their basic riason d'tere that of protecting and promoting workers right and T&Cs.

i will be staying, the union can be big help sometimes, i will be staying on the basis if i get any grief from managers they will be there for me. If the deal gets voted in we can only blame our fellow posties not the union

I've always been a trade unionist, and always will be.
However bad the union may be, it's all we've got to defend us from an employer who would trample all over us if they could.
If you think things are bad now just wait and see how they will treat you without a union.
