Whats your practical ammendments to DEAL

Post by gb93 »

Here is 1 to start with that is surely not too far extreme

3.5% PAY RISE APRIL 2010, 2% PAY RISE APRIL 2011, 1.4% PAY RISE 2012

Now i am not saying the rest of deal is ok.But this could be a STEP in right direction.

Lets have some more achievable ideas to improve deal (Just in case there is a no vote)

Ok here is another 1

D2D Supplement £30.60. I have more suggestions only for the point of starting debate.

DELIVERY POSTMAN.

D2D supplement should of been higher.
Should of been a cap on delivery length.

How about we have a fair bonus scheme like John Lewis have?

The supplement should have been £30.
The more you know, the worse it gets.

All overtime must be offered to Part-time staff (where possible) before offering it to full-time staff

I would actually put it the other way around 1.4% 2010, 2% 2011, and 3.5% in 2012.

Reason for this as we are still climbing out of a recession and we don't want the public to be thinking that were just a bunch of greedy postmen, while people are still losing jobs.

D2D should be left as they are.

Reason for this...why should someone get paid something for doing nothing, while the postie thats been doing households for years gets in affect a paycut.

D2D supplement £20.60 for all not pro-rata
No loss of ESA
Detailed proposals for structure of deliveries and not we`ll let you know later.
75/25 split applicable locally not nationally or regionally or whatever.
Greater lump sum payments now and not when/if walk sequencing arrives.
Shorter working week now and not when/if walk sequencing arrives.

Sorry Postman, but he did say a 'fair bonus scheme',dont think anyone could argue that a pretendy share scheme is comparable with the scheme the John Lewis workers receive. The staff bonus amounts to 15% of basic salary this year, equal to nearly eight weeks' pay. Last year workers received 13%, while in 2008, before the recession set in, they were handed 20%.
The more you know, the worse it gets.

1. An agreed definition of 'confidentiality.'

2. Commitment to set up unit internet forums modelled on rmc for discussing proposed changes.

3. RM to publish outcomes of grievances/disputes on its intranet to prevent some local units implementing changes that other units have successfully argued against.

4. Commitment to discipline managers that break RM policies.

5. Commitment to use psychometric tests to evaluate whether managers have the intellectual capabilities to understand RM policies. All managers unable to demonstrate the minimum required level of comprehension to be retired.

Couldn't agree more with this, my two main sticking points.
They could be so easily resolved.

1.D2D supplement could be £25 now with the proviso that there would be a review when many more D2D were coming to posties. The review would decide an amount to increase the supplement by.

2.An upper limit to delivery spans, I could have even swallowed 5 hours, as long as it was an absolute limit.

Would probably vote yes then, what a shame...... :wave
