I'm slightly suspicious of this unlimited D2D thing. I have the idea we will deliver D2D every day to every house and if managers ration them out accordingly you could do 2 lots a day, they would only need to drive round to check they were being delivered,the bloke covering your day off would have his own 2 lots to do and since you'd be going to every address every day managers would be relieved of that awful recurring nightmare, you know the one where postmen finish 5 minutes early sometimes.I mentioned this to my manager today who told me he's attending a meeting next week to discuss these very points. Also they'll will want this agreement sorted soon because there's an election coming,just imagine the money to be made on election material. if only there was a way to get postman to deliver it all for nowt.sounds like a job for billy and dave.

Quick calculation: Say you take 6 d2d that equals too £50.10 (based on 500 calls). New deal £20.60!

Now its not rocket science that you would be losing out on £30 a week! (except holidays none of course )

Yes, but you will be doing less work for it. Your cover will do 20% on your day off. Also, to absorb all aspects of prepping and delivering 6 D2D will require less drops so you can finish at your time.
I think it is crap really but the fact is that the union want all workload absorbed into our hours and this is the only way really.
It is a case of all the money for products coming into RM, is then divided out equally for all workers. D2D is also an enabler for them to plan duties to their time more easily.
The only defence against all this is, and always has been the same.
Start on your time, take your breaks, don't use your car, don't do overtime at all. Just do what you agreed to do in your contract when you joined. Work ALL your hours with the appropriate effort, no more no less and there will be very little to fear.

Even after pegasus & the introduction of longs & shorts it still goes on. When you advise them to change their ways the usual response is sod off.

if you ask me this is the fault of the people who run around like soft c**ts, then getting back to brag about how long it took them to do a duty we all no who they are. its took royal mail a bit of time to pick up on this and now where all f****d!!!! will these same people still insist in doing this even when this loop van share comes into effect your guess is as good as mine

There is another thing that we are forgetting.

Weight.. we get paid more for the heavier D2Ds, if payments as they are now cease then presumably so will the limit on weight of each D2D so there you go, better start doing some press ups as boy are you going to carrying a lot of bulk/s**t soon.
