The big D2D issue!!
It seems that the most contentious part of the agreement is surrounding a pay cut for many for D2D.
There is so much negativity about it, I thought I would try to think of some positives.
There may well be an upside with D2D into workload.
Their preparation may well take the place of lapsing.
Due to the fact that some rounds have many more calls than others, I can see D2D being prepped all together as an office. This would also stop part timers being expected to do there own D2D in the same time as a full timer because the resources as a whole would take care of it.
They will be easier to deliver because weight will be off the shoulders in the future.
The set payment allows people to budget better with their financial commitments.
If you were unable to complete your duty with D2D you can cut off with them. Try doing that with D2D now and see what happens.
The number of calls we have to do each should go down to accomodate the time outdoors for the D2D.
If you do want overtime and it is due to many D2D, you will get normal overtime rates. Now there is no overtime for going over with D2D. An couple of hours ot + £20.60 must be more than most get now?? Lets be honest, most people prep them in their own time and it takes an hour or so.
Anybody got any more advantages please, we have heard so many disadvantages?

Re: The big D2D issue!!
They will have to revise the rounds to take into account the maximum amount of d2ds we can deliver. If they revise the round using just 2 or 3 d2ds to be made up and delivered then we wouldnt have the time to do this if it is 8 or 9 d2ds.
It will also mean that I will have to say NO THANKS to delivering election material as I would like to get home before midnight.
See!!!! There are positives in this

I am led to believe that part of the £20.60 includes money to do election material,so you will have to do whatever comes in.Broxi51 wrote:They will have to revise the rounds to take into account the maximum amount of d2ds we can deliver. It will keep the paper recycling plants and their employees in work.
If we had dog s**t recycling plants, my walk could keep a few of those going as well.

You can do both of those things if you take your 20% a day.

Yep since they are compulsory but then again they hit oot with 'but you get paid extra for D2D's so you should expect to work longer!'numan wrote:banner18 wrote:It seems that the most contentious part of the agreement is surrounding a pay cut for many for D2D.

If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Re: The big D2D issue!!
If no calculating and form filling and collecting have to be done and no inputting of payments needed on office PCs with regard to the door to doors because the payment will no longer be variable, then one of the last refuges of the workshy manager will have been destroyed and they will die out like other endangered species - that has got to be a better bonus than we have been offered so far

Re: The big D2D issue!!
Duties will have to be worked out with 100% call rate.
It is much needed money for the business, profits will go up and will be a good bargaining tool for future pay rises.
Our jobs(on deliverys at least) are now more secure.
Obviously the down side is the payment for them and the pro rata con for part timers.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Can Pegusus be set out with 100% call rate?
The more you know, the worse it gets.
