Are they really that stupid that they don't see the current deal they have for us contains a pay cut? Are they really that stupid? What hypocrites they are saying British Airways have the prospect of pay cuts!

Try Inept, Ignorant, Self serving , Spineless, Pathetic maybe Useless then again Egotistical there are lots of words to describe them some might stoop as low as to say Bought or Corrupt, but not me..........................STUPID describes their description of the Agreement.

Shame on those who negotiated a pay cut for the majority of staff.
Shame on those that negotiated pro rata for D2D.
Shame on those who negotiated 3pm last letter on a Saturday.

Just my Opinion and LJR might be more intelligent than our CWU leaders, the trouble is it would take them 20 years to work their way up through the union if they wanted to replace them.

The CWU is a slow moving bureaucracy that has no system for harnessing the talents of its members.

There are so many good ideas on this site. Do our leaders listen to them or do they only listen to the opinions of the aged branch officials?

The above I cannot answer unfortunately. However I think the question you need to be asking yourself is, how long will the current leaders of the CWU be there? I do not proclaim to be an intelligent person. As my username advises, I merely give my own personal opinion. Just as you have give your own personal opinion that I must be 'stupider'. Just to clarify though, stupider isn't actually a word. However I won't make any references or remarks to your intelligence.

I know A really talented shop Steward,who deserves to go far higher and even higher than national level,but despite suppourt in certain sections ,he does not have enough suppourt to go higher and is held back by dead wood not moving.

I thought a union was supposed to enhance their members pay and conditions not worsen them. If this deal goes ahead I will be leaving the CWU after 20+ years.

And you won't be alone. 5 years from now with a 50/50 FTPT split with a 40/60 members/non members split they won't be negotiating for anyone - the big wigs must be hoping and praying they can hang on long enough to get their protected pension.

Saving Full Time jobs by getting rid of thousands-how does that work then ? Like all the jobs the CWU saved in BT ?
