Annual Leave list. FAIR?

Got the 2010/11 AL list today, thro my door. I was off for 3 weeks sick, back for a few then off on AL from 2009 backlog.
All the leave WAS ALREADY taken from May-October, so I had to got to work - in my time - to question the manager.
"Tuff" was basically the response. Then I pointed out that some guys had booked a total of 4 weeks...thanks guys...

So, as I'm on a Rota, why didn't the list get passed on? "Sort it out yourself" was the managers final response.
And I tought that this was THEIR job, and got paid a LOT more money than me for this purpose!

Maybe they all "forgot" where I lived, LOL! Just hope my weeks off are sunny!

I had this happen to me! So when I went back to work I went into the managers office with the weeks I wanted off and refused to leave untill he gave them to me! Result!

Thanks all, but...trying to get my "Rights" is like trying to tie down Helium !!!
So, I've settled for some early year/later year AL. ( Hope it pisses it down all Summer. What, me vindictive? Never.)

Can't be bothered arguing with the Manager as I'll just lose the will to live, LOL!

I'll just ensure I'm ok for 2011, that's assuming that I'm not one of the 25 - 40,000 that go under the great "Deal"...

Here in Wigan we are told when our holidays are and if they don't suit we have to chase round trying to swap with someone else. Anyone fancy swapping March? Also we can only swap with someone on the same hrly contract. It's ridiculous sometimes you can be given different weeks leave in consecutive months and nothing then for months on the bounce who wants that? Also it pays to be clicky with the bloke who sorts the leave.

Our leave is sorted into groups and every year you move up one in the group.

I was apparently third on the list. I'm currently on loan to an office 30 miles away... They brought everyone else into the office to pick their holidays and then posted my sheet out to me. I picked mine, posted it back within 2 days and then, when I received my sheet back, all my holidays had been allocated for me because the form had "been received too late".

Effin joke. Luckily, I was only bothered about one week (my birthday) and the office I'm on loan to said I could have it as I'll probably still be there.

I asked my DOM about it, he basically passed the buck and said he wasn't there when the sheets were handed out, he just processed them when he got back. I asked him to find out who sent them out and I'm still awaiting a reply.

Nah, on a stage 2 after lots of sick last year which wasn't helped by one manager making my life a misery so I didn't want to go in even when I didn't feel unwell enough to stay at home. I had a bad AOD, no rehab plan, pissed about, bad break up, stress and then ended up off sick after manager was a prat.

The allocation of leave is dealt with at length in the Way Forward agreement.
Your leave is not being dealt with in accordance with this agreement and you need to get it sorted NOW
