Sure have sister for startersroyalstar wrote:Hi I am the new health and safety rep for our office. Anyone got any hints or tips for me?
1. Sign up to the weekly TUC risks bulletin.
2. Get swatted up on the relevant health and safety legislation.
3. Especially in any health and safety related issue dealings with your local management submit it in writing (in other words leave a paper trail).
4. Get yourself on a TUC Stage One Health and Safety Course as soon as possible.
5. Keep on friendly and amicable terms with your union IR Rep but do not let them barge in on health and safety related matters.
6. Note who is your Branch Area Health and Safety Rep and liaise with them on health and safety.
7. If you have a problem and not sure what to do or are wanting advice ask on RMC.
