Stage 1 5 months on ???

Post by royalwud »

I was off for 17 days last november, and now, 5 months later, i am to receive a stage1
How is it ok for management to drag there feet at following procedures and not have to answer for it,
there should be a set time in place, that the managers have to complete their role within
this procedure and after that it should no longer stand. :arrrghhh

i know where your coming from, but it will be back dated.

lots of people think, because in their mind it's not right that they won't/can't be staged. nothing could be further from the truth.
royal mail legally can do what they like...they pay the wages they call the shots.

(morally it's not right but legally we can do EFFall)

you don't want to be on a stage 3...the best you could get is going to tribunal, winning the tribunal, but RM don't/won't give you you're job back
= big savings for them on the pension!!

so best to keep the nose clean and stay out of trouble.

Sorry stage 1s have to be heard within 3 months see your rep or area rep.

Never heard of a 3 month deadline,it states 'within a resonable time frame'.
5 months is taking the piss though, ask for it to be backdated.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Was told by my Rep that 6 months was the limit, but think that was a "general" comment. I haven't seen it in writing anywhere.
Anyone know if it is in writing somewhere???

Don't know where the 3 months comes from, but, this seems more than reasonable, for most sensible thinking people...

( As an aside...RM Managers seem to be one of the only Employers who don't like receiving written info/or divulging it either.
Having worked since I was a young teen, it's the WORST company by far. Seems to me that if it all done on a Verbal basis,
then there's no evidence to prove/disprove what has occurred.)

I had a long delay on one of my Stage 3's, nobody knew the deadline so I phoned CWU HQ and was told no deadline but as Postman said it has to be within a reasonable time scale (whatever that is  )
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

I was told 3 months by an area rep for all stages to be heard obviously the union themselves havnt a clue so im a bit baffled.

3 months isnt even a reasonable time scale but i find it hard to believe the union would agree to 6 months go with the 3 months and play the none the wiser card this is the road i would go down. 5 months is a joke.
