Been trying to work out how much Royal Mail get for D2D's (god the pricing structure is so confusing) think it works out an average of £38 per 1000 with a minimum order of £500.
So are £20.66 or £8 if your going to loose you early shift allowence is a joke!

numberone, do you seriously believe it would make good business sense to pay us lot more in wages than what Royal Mail receive in revenue from the customer ???

it's obvious why they want to only pay us a fixed supplement for D2D items - they want to make a PROFIT from getting more D2D stuff, not a loss. Greater profit = better job security. Taking on new business and then making a loss on it would be a recipe for financial meltdown and accelerated job losses

At no point did I say we should get more for delivering D2D that RM actually make,

Man wanting a loan "can I have a £10,000 loan please"
Bank Manager "sure you can you will be paying back £12,500 over the course of the loan"
Man wanting loan "ok I'll take it"

2 weeks later man wanting loan gets phone call from bank "oh by the way you will now be paying back £50,000 on that laon because I want to make more profit"

You need to take into account the cost involved on getting the DTD to your delivery frame. Then you will get a truer picture of RM profit levels on them.

Is it true that the RM pigs want to replace early shift allowance and d2d payments with a SET £20.60 payment into basic wage and NON pensionable because if so that's a joke.
Already we all get mixed shift payment of £14.60 which is pensionable. (remember rm pay 20% of all pensionable pay, we pay 6%.
Also i already get £40pw d2d money on three items. So i figure rm want me to deliver 3more items and take a £35pw pay cut or there abouts.
Surely across the country this will fund rm payments for transformation. As i'll be earning £1820 PA less and thus be funding the £1K and other payments due.

Our union have really shafted us this time

royal fail a number of years ago made according to there figures an £88 million PROFIT of your backs and iv'e no doubt that figure is now well in excess of that without screewing it's workforce even further if you wish to do them for nowt just don't hand in your sheet at the end of the week ....

If you look at the link you will see prices range from £59 per 1000 to £32.01 (with a possible discount of 15.5% if you send over 200k so £27.05). This means Royal Mail gets paid between 5.9p and 2.7p per item at the 20g weight band. This means there could be as little as 1p to cover walk bundling, distribution costs and profit (if there is any??) at the lower end of the scale.

Yes, it does seem likely that, as usual, RM has no idea about competitive pricing, and we're the poor buggers who have to pay for their ineptitude....

It's quite telling that around 1/6 of my D2Ds are syphoned in from TNT..... My kids used to deliver TNT direct mail on their local paper rounds...

If TNT're now using RM then we must be the cheaper option... God help us all in the future... Think I'll just rewind 30 years and go back to being a paper 'boy'... bet there's more money in it... Certainly more tips at Chrimbo!
