Lump sums.

From what i can understand it was £500 straight away then £1000 when revsions were completed. Now it's been changed, the lump sum will be less money but there will be 4 lump sum payments. Can dingo and co comment on this?? Before people jump on me i'm not someone who looks at the lump sum payments only, it's more important to me what else is in the agreement, i'd much rather more money every week than one off payments. Also can others on here not just think on themselves and think of others, don't just vote yes because there going to give us a lump sum now, how long will it last, we would have spent it in a couple of weeks and then you have to put up with the rest of the s**t for the rest of your working life with RM. Read all the agreement before you vote, Please don't just look for the £ signs.

Any lump sum will get a no vote from me, as cantbelieve said it will be gone in a few weeks but extra crap will be with us forever like that stupid flexibility, what utter crap that is.

let's face it all the 'good' stuff ie lump sums/pay rises etc will be on the first few pages

most of the workforce will read only that and vote yes

hell in my office most of them don't think they will be in the job in 2 years so they will take the money and run - which is what RM are counting on

it will just be the rest of us that are left to pick up the s**t

Gotta agree with the comments so far. But, there are so many people out there, and I can't really blame some of them, who will see the £ sign and jump at the chance of 'the quick fix' to their current financial dilemmas. External pressures and pressure from home may have individuals at breaking point and a sudden cash injection may soothe a lot of heads across the country.

But sadly this the game the Royal Mail play - they, like Derren Brown are the Masters of Misdirection. Show them something shiny and appealing with one hand and yet hide a multitude of deceit behind the other. The masses will vote 'Yes' for the short term benefits but sadly the long term deceptions will punish them for years to come. Even now we are still being hit with the Royal Mail's version of the Patriot Act under the guise of 'flexibility ' - a "Do what we want " agreement that changes only to suit them.

I'd love to say, Vote for Change and don't Vote for the Cash , but this forum is blessed with the converted and the long term free thinkers. It's the massed ranks of sheep and weak of will that fill our D.O's who need to be convinced by the very Union that is brokering this deal to Just Say No! - It seems that Alanis Morissette was right when she sang..Isn't it Ironic !

Make the deal ,take the lump sum,then 6 months down the line tell them to get f****d . You would only be following Adams example after all

conditions that make sure that part timers get worked as hard as full timers, i'd go payless for a week if it meant the 2 managers sons in my office which are part time were made to work even there whole 25 hours a week

thats true enough like we told em to get F****d when the flexibility agreement was changed/missinterprated so we got the money and still did what we wanted
