The answer is simple, they don`t have the expeirance. As I said on another thread , first you became a Postman/women , then a temp Phg , then Phg , Temp Guv , finally a Guv. As you can see getting to be a manager took a fair few years and on the way you did every job, so knew it all. Nowadays well

My DOMs not overweight, he even does walks every now and then! He is overpaid though for what is essentially a part time secretarial role. Their days must be numbered

I imagine their basic pay isnt a great deal better than ours.... they make all their money on the bonuses they get due to OUR hardwork making savings on the office budget... ive been told in the past by a tame DOM that the amount of money saved in the office budget is directly related to the size of their bonus.

They are not managers, they are over paid supervisors, line managers. Managers are just puppets and must have been bullied as a child.

A couple of years ago our office had a new DOM on £33,000 but that is a DOM not a line manager some get confused on here they are on about £25 to 26k now i think outside london!.

This may be way off the mark, in other words a rumour but i think a DOM is on about £32000 (plus recently they have been getting big bonuses for savings up to £9000 last year) I believe a basic lino to be on about £28000 but they too get bonuses, and increments for length of service. Currently RM seem to be using more temporary managers who get their postie basic pay plus abouy £80 per week on top. Not too many of these are getting made up to full manager grade at the moment (i wonder why?)

Just looked at royal mail job site and they need no managers plenty of posties jobs with other responsibilities?.

DOMs are paid according to their weight. That's why they don't move much because it burns calories.

It has been proved , however, that using ones mouth doesn't actually use calories, which means they can talk bollocks all day long.
