Bristol North DO Strikers - Monday 16th July 07

CWU Members staged a day of action today for a local dispute, in addition to the one they took last Friday for the national position. This office work on the "one-week off in six" attendance pattern which is now under attack from managers, local DUM and DSM. On top of this the local manager has instructed anybody on their week off, that if they have had sick leave since their last week off, they had to attend for duty on days of their week off to make up the time lost through sickness.

The DUM's are now also intent on pursuing a line whereby all vacancies will now be filled on a "rolling day off" basis, this will effect reserve coverage, annnual leave, etc, etc. I believe further action is not yet planned but this will undoubtadly happen when they try to pursue some other issue. I have passed on this sites address to several members from Bristol NDO so that they can see that they are not alone in their struggle against our so called caring employer.

Good lads - I'm sure that sick days bit is illegal as everyone is entitled to 21 days in fact I'll check it out and see if I can paste a link.

4 "managers" came in at 3 am today and put all of Bristol NDO's letters through our sequencing machine.
