Re: no hope
its all going to become digital - screens will be installed compulsary into a persons home with messages sent to them.
messages must be read otherwise an alarm will tone.
creating a wave of new jobs installing and updating these machines.
id advise doing a technical course.
Controlled by the goverment. with propganda sent - but also nuclear strike information could be usefull.

Re: no hope
On a serious note, how much do you think Royal mail will exist as an entity ? I could even venture to say 25% letters will have declined a great deal, packets will be the main breadwinner.

Re: no hope
In 20 years time the idiot masses of the general public will be moaning for Royal Mail once it's gone and how much better it was back then.... USO will be gone, rural deliveries will be gone, thefts will be through the roof due to the workforce being all casual

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

royal mail will always be here. mail volumes will return. you must be living in cloud cuckoo land. royal mail are currently through wtl sessions testing the water as to how many hours they can retreive through buying hours and vr. it doesn't take an einnstein to see whats behind this exercise, tnt run their operations on the continent almost solely on part time hours, the government through their most kind gesture of dqwn stream access have given the private companies enough revenue to be able tob buy into royal mail without using their own rescources. in addition the possibility of a £600 million fine will greatly reduce the asking price. rest assured if labour hold onto office at the forthcoming election peter mandelson will go full tilt for part or full privatisation, and god forbid if the tories get in full privatisation will be top of the agenda and then we can forget saturday deliveries, the universal service order and look forward to zonal charging.

Re: no hope
Royal mail sold off, me on the dole eating endless tins of cold baked beans as my doorbell rings fifteen times a day and a disgruntled dishevelled babbling berk after berk asks me to sign for a pizza voucher. Sell off royal mail to the highest bidders!
